LOL! I keep noticing SWORD GOD references!!Originally Posted by Bogeyman

Taoist Priest Buping laughed aloud: "The God of Sword, The Sword of God, SWORD GOD really lives up to his mighty reputation."
Could it be pure coincidence that one surnamed Zhuo in this story would receive a verbatim complement of living up to his reputations? ?

If you take control of other characters and builds up on that, how different is that from fanfic?
A rpg is about a group of people taking turns to apply their creativity into a story. But if you are impatient and take charge instead, you are in reality writing your own story instead of a collaboration which is exactly what a rpg is about.
In which case, you are writing your own story while potentially pissing off the other players because,
1) You make decisions for characters that do not belong to you in the first place, which is a disrespect to the other players unless you have been given prior permission for control.
2) You deprive the other players' playing chances. You ROB them of what they had initially expected to get from this game when they first joined. They wanted to play, but then everyone's got a life, and not everyone will be able to make timely posts and etc. Imagine their surprise when they returned, wanting to make a post and discovering that someone's already done it for them. So, are they still in the game or not?
3) You potentially ruin the plans that the other players could have. Read kidd's post for better understanding.
4) There is the chance you could make the other player's character act out-of-character despite the bio's existence.
5) The only satisfied person is YOU. With the above happening, it is likely that not everyone will enjoy it.
All right. So my character is MINE, right? Shouldn't I be the one who decide the character's actions or fate instead of someone else? Shouldn't I be the one who builds up and develop on the character?
Honestly only the creator knows best about his/her own character.
You are only ruining someone else's fun by seizing control, especially if the other player already had plans for his/her character.
In the rpg world, that's called 'godmoding' and it's an act that's greatly frowned upon.
But as I said, minor controlling is actually okay, and unavoidable. But not when it comes to speech and most actions.

No more fighting, lol. PJ maybe you should remake your character so you could play.
To be fair to TommyH, he did modify the part a bit after I complained. At least, his character didn't throw me a sword anymore (but I was still being captured ).
And he did start refering to the character's profile before he made use of other people's character after that.
I think not allowed to control speech at all is a bit limiting. I think a bit of control is ok lah. Making the other character say one or 2 lines is ok.
It might be fun too in certain circumstances, if the controling is not too overboard. Like in a fight scene. One player made his character totally owned his opponent, but when it's the other player's turn, he turn the tides back.

Anyone want to introduce their character in the inn? Or do they want to wait for the Wulin meeting to come?
HEY!!
DON'T call my character SISTER Zhuo!! She is ELDER Zhuo!!
LOL I was looking forward to a fight!!
Thank you so much for helping Tommy to stop the fight, PJ.
PJ!! WAIT!!!
I want to post first!
I'm going to sleep but the next time I make another entry I'll like to do some more interaction. So if anyone wants to use my character in the meantime, please feel free to go ahead. One of my plan is to have us "low levels" group together or me following a strong fighter after the inn scene.
