I kind of regret getting myself led into this thread, but having not seen the photos, how do you know the women consented to having the photo taken, and that it wasn't some hidden camera of some sort?

If they're real then i guess they're just foolish, but if not, they're human. I mean, it's not like other people get condemned- and this is coming from a pretty conservative person's POV. From sugar's article- who's condemning edison? males with no sex lives i'm imgaining omg, i so did not just say that...

It's all to do with the society's mindset and her screen image though. I feel the most sorry for Cecilia who is a MOTHER and her pics are the worst. Also Bobo, who has a fiance. And of course, sucks badly for Gillian too I guess since she has most press coverage.

There's no guess who's in the headlines of this week's tabloid mags. I read about Cecilia and Bobo's predicament and feel really sorry for them:

Cecilia's mother-in-law is really pissed, Nic returned to HK and allegedly had a big row with Cecilia, and there was rumors of divorce (I hope not, poor Lucas!). Now reporters are camping under their residence to catch on the 'divorce' news.

Bobo have been locking herself at home and crying. Her friends said that her wedding might be cancelled because the fiance refused to answer her calls. Of course this is still from so-called 'sources', but I think the wedding will be postponed indefinitely.

Both parties have responsibilities. There's no doubt that Edison is a S.O.B. pervert, but the girls also took those pictures willingly. No such thing as trusting that your 'partner' will take good care of them. Obviously not since Edison is alleged of carrying around his conquest pics in his laptop and Blackberry.

Like I said before in another forum we Chinese have a saying, ling gei ren zhi mo gei ren jian, 令給人知莫給人見, meaning better to let people know than to let them see. Nic and Bobo's fiancees might have been aware of CC and Bobo's past discretions and accepted it. However, it's one thing to be aware, it's a whole other thing to see it full fledge with the rest of the world.

I believe that Gillian is the only one whose career, or career as we know it is over. She could always attempt to transform to a Hyori/Jolin image, but I don't think that's going to work.

Cecilia's problem is more personal than career related. She has always been open about being a wild child, and I think the audience can accept her as she actually has talent as an actress. Look at Hsu Chi who started in porn and has evolved into a solid mainstream actress. The family side is a whole other matter. I agree completely that given their prestigious family backgrounds, Nic/Bobo's fiance will be put to the test. Even if they are tolerant and understanding enough to accept CC/Bobo's past as passed, the family pressure will be tremendous.

Edison is actually the most likely to be fine after this. Let's face it, the majority of guys are more envious than pissed at his actions. Heck given the current state of society he might even be put up another notch since he's proved his player skills. At the least he will the male market share in the industry.

Yeah Edison's career won't be hurt that much. He never had the innocent image anyways. He was always the bad boy anyways. I never liked this guy anyways. This incident doesn't make me think less of him or anything. To me it's not a big deal, but i just think he's a loser b4 all of this.

I had extreme doubt to the authenticity of the pictures when they first appeared online. They do look very convincing, but I still held on to the possibility that they are fake. With today’s advance photoshop programs and technology, it’s hard for even professionals to tell. However, after seeing the celebrities’ reactions to the pictures, it’s difficult to give them the benefit of the doubt.

If the pics are altered, normal people would quickly clarify the situation and announce their innocence because this is a big deal. No such response from the parties involved. Instead, they go into hiding and even leave the country with no comment, letting their publicists and lawyers handle the mess. So it gives the public another reason to conclude the pics are authentic and were taken from Edison’s possession.

Some people might think: the pics are real… so what? It’s only normal for dating couples to have sex and even record/take pictures.

I think the biggest shock to the public and myself is that we may know the couples are doing it, but we don’t want to see the proof of their private sex lives. Or at least most of us don’t. Same goes to the women’s significant others. Nic and Bobo’s fiancé knew the women dated other men before, but I’m sure it can’t be easy to know the public are viewing pictures of the women in such compromising positions. The matter is just embarrassing to the celebrities.

Everyone involved should hold certain amount of responsibility. Being a celebrity, it’s just plain stupidity to keep evidence of such matter, unless one does not care about the possibility of the pics/video leaking to the public. I’ve never been a fan of them and don’t think I will in the future, but I’m just amazed that I’ve followed this story for so long. Sex does intrigue everyone…
