I am shocked that Huang Yaoshi is not on top of this list. This needs to be redone.

That's not because Wong Yerk See's inventions lacked the quality to merit survival; it's because he had a nasty habit of destroying his own heirs. Had he not crippled Chan, Mui, Kuk, Luk, Mo, and Fung, they and their followers/descendants possibly could have kept the Peach Blossom Island martial arts legacy going for generations.
I think Hong QiGong invented a couple skills too. Xiaoyao you Palms used at his youth & Man Tian Hua Yu to counterattack the Ouyang family's snakes.
Since when does a master of invention have to be a master of propagation? Most of Da Vinci's inventions were never widely produced or distributed, but he was considered the greatest inventor of all time because of his forward thinking ideas.Inventors don't have to be businessmen too. If they invent some bomb-diggity art, they invented it. And that should go as a notch on their belt, regardless of what happened to it after they're gone.
"4. Huang Yaoshi (LOCH) -- one of the Great "can do all" artists; very elegant style; inventor of Mighty Snap, Bravely Descending Divine Sword Palm (Luoying Shenjian Zhang -- a palm technique based on a sword style!), Jade Flute Swordplay, Peach Blossom Island's Air-Splitting Palm, and several other Peach Blossom arts"
In the third edition the name is "TaoHua LuoYing Zhang". The sword style you mentioned is most likely TaoHua LuoYing Jian, used by GX in the beginning of HSDS. It was mentioned that the sword style was the adaptation of the palm technique, not the other way around.
HYS for the win!
EDIT: And didn't he also invent the "Lan Hua Fou Xue Shou" hand technique for sealing of accupoints? HR used it in both LOCH and ROCH.
