Well, the second season of SPCNET Idol has sadly come to an end, but I am sure most of you will agree that there were a lot of great entries this year and it was incredibly tough to pick in the final divisions.
Thank you to everyone who entered! - at this rate I won't have to submit 8 entries like I did this time to make up for numbers! [no prizes for guessing which 8]
Also thank you to everyone who voted and gave feedback- it really IS appreciated by the contestants and it's nice to note the improvement some members have made between last time and this time
Of course, I must mention netdriftr for helping me host. I will be on broadband soon so his position will soon become obsolete, but that's not really the point and I have to say that I really do appreciate the work he put into this. THANK YOU NET AND BEST OF LUCK IN THE UPCOMING 6 MONTHS.
Also to spcnet, who kindly sponsors this competition, thank you so much for being so supportive of us - and who votes that spcnet sings next time?
Now to announce the winners:
Acappella division-
The winner is the singer of the songs "Looking Through Your Eyes" and "Reflection."
I should probably ask her permission before revealing her identity, but not like it will be kept secret. Her name is...
HOJU!
- literally with the exclamation mark
Also special mention to all the finalists in the acappella division. I think the final poll really does reflect just how close the other entries were and how difficult it was to pick.
Background Division
And the winner is the singer of "O Ben Do Em Cuoi" and "Trai Tim Binh Yen."
I am certain that thanks to this singer, we now have a few viet songs amongst our collection of music. He sounds so professional most of us find it hard to differentiate his recordings from professional ones.
WARLOCK110
Special mention also to "Close Under The Starlight/One Person One Dream" and "Si Lu/Ai Mei" - very close between these three entries. In fact, the background music entries were of a very high standard too.
Group Division
The unofficial section of the competition but a lot of fun...
The winner is the LOCH Theme with 7 votes!
Also special mention to You Ni Zhen Hao with 6 votes, not surprisingly done with the same, very 'sweet' female voice
I hope everyone who entered will own up to their entries because in my honest opinion, they were great!
I will also take this opportunity to thank my duet partners- it's tough to put up with the nightmares you get from hearing my voice, but you guys have been great!
I look forward to hearing some great collaborations in 2008 and hope that we will be lucky enough to hear some bonus songs *hint hint* from the winners.
