Default Why did XX become CK's disciple?

Xie Xun was already one of the 4 Guardians of Ming Sect before becoming Cheng Kun's disciple. If he was one of the Guardians then it means he was already quite capable in terms of martial arts. So why did he become CK's disciple?I need to know why?

I thought Cheng Kun became Xie Xun's master so he could use it to plot against Ming Sect. Someone clarify on this point.

    odbayarb2000 is correct.

Xie Xun was Cheng Kun's disciple before becoming a Guardian Lord of Ming Cult.

[EDIT] here is the novel passage to back that

I was at school today so I couldn't answer to your question clearly.

Here is excerpt from novel translations.

    Xie Xun's conversation. .

“At the age of ten, by simply a coincidence, I became the disciple of a person with powerful martial arts. My relationship with my master was like father and son. ........................At the age of twenty-three, I finished my training and left. I went to the western regions, and met a bunch of pretty important people. Since we really hit it off, they considered me on of their brothers.

Ceng Kung's narrative, it is about the things that happened after he witnessed the death of Yang PoTian

"After going down Guang Ming Ding, I returned to the Central Plain and looked for my disciple Xie Xun, whom I have not met for a long time. Beyond my expectation, as soon as I met him, he told me that he had entered Mo Jiao, and he had even become one of the Fu Jiao Fa Wang! He even tried to persuade me to enter the Demonic Cult, saying that Mo Jiao had a goal to drive away the foreign invaders. I was extremely infuriated, but I suppress my fury, because I realized that Mo Jiao had planted itself deeply and strongly, and I knew that it had a lot of top fighters, so I shouldn't act rashly. Alone, I knew that it would be impossible for me to do anything much. I thought that there was no other way than making everything start with a trick, namely a trick to divide Mo Jiao and weaken it from within itself, so that it would self-destruct. Perhaps only by using this way, Mo Jiao could be wiped out."

Thus he killed entire family of Xie Xun.

    Thanks, odbayarb.

And Cheng Kun didn't feel even a little conflicted? I mean, it's his "son" that he's destroyed...
ZOMG I'm back! Did ya miss me? (yeah, probably didn't...)
