We all have watched wuxia series and adaptations at some point in our lifetime. Many of us have watched multiple versions of LOCH, ROCH, HSDS, DGSD, SPW, DOMD, and more. But I also know that many of us are unsatisfied with the cast of the show. If it was up to YOU to decide the cast of any wuxia adaptation, who would YOU choose?

PS. Please choose actors and actresses at their current ages please. So Andy Lau can't play YG anymore...sorry

Most of these are TVB actors and actresses because I rarely watch mainland since my Mando is limited. ROCH06 was an exception and I miraculously got through it in Mando. I'll add more later.

in my opnion Lau Dan make a Great Hong Qi Gong he was in most of the tVB series.

Agree with the former, but with regards to the latter, IMHO Raymond acts somewhat comatose when he's villainous.

Raymond fans, don't hate. I think he's just as cute as you do, ok?

Actually, Brigitte Lin might make a good LDG. Surprised? I always thought that some of her characters had an element of coldness balanced with innocence, a hint of vulnerability, and a smidgen of sweetness. If she could tone down the intense anger and malevolence she often brings to her characters, I think what's left fits in well with the LDG of the novel.

And yes, I know, she's not as young as she used to be BUT since she's no longer in the public eye, for all we know she could look as lovely as she used to, yes?

Can't think of anyone to play huang rong other than Zhou Xun. She did it well in the china version.

Lam Fung acts comatose in most of his ancient series roles. I dunno in my head I can picture him playing someone who can switch from being bad to good to bad again.

Based on her performances in the BRIDE WITH THE WHITE HAIR movies, I think Brigitte is better suited to play characters such as Lam Chiu Ying or Lee Mok Sau.

Here's an obvious one we're all missing out on: Felix Wong as the older Gwok Jing for ROCH. We all know he can play the young Gwok Jing in LOCH; he's now at the right age to play the older Gwok Jing of ROCH. I'm surprised none of the ROCH adaptations in recent years have tapped him for the role.

That's what I think too. I don't know why Mainland doesn't want Felix as GJ...maybe they asked him but he rejected? Too bad TVB can't make anymore JY adaptations Wait...wtf? How can people like Wong Jing still make JY adaptations that are even worst than TVB adaptations and still be able to make them...what is JY thinking?

I agree that she can play Lee Mok Sau and Lam Chiu Ying, but I'm just saying she's versatile enough that if she deemphasizes the violent rage part she could be a workable LDG. She doesn't have to deemphasize the intensity--LDG is pretty intense in her fight scenes.

But I guess, as you say, her age doesn't quite work out.
