Entertaining but not a great movie. Didn't even feel that sad about the deaths.

Does this show have a good ending? Like, does Kelly survive?

I watched two weeks ago with my dad and we laughed right up til the end. Watch it if you have nothing else to watch but to me, it is a waste of time and budget. So much emphasis was made during promotion on the hand-sewn armour when type should have spent more time on the the plot and development. The story doesn't start off too bad til the military training begins and so does the laughs.

Kelly Chan looks great but can't act serious. She either looks cute, blank or pissed off. Her voice does not portray the authorty of an empress whether Mandarin or Cantonese. Leon looked sleepy throughout his romance scenes, and Donnie was wooden. But maybe Donnie was supposed to be wooden cos his characters hides all his feelings. I think out of the three leads, Donnie shone only because of his action scenes. The best actor was the Mainland Chinese actor who played Yan Hu Ba.

I like Murong Xue Hu but he was never really developed and his decisions as a general astounds me. Yan Fei-er is a ditzy girl and Duan Lan Quan is a bore. The romance is supposed to be captivating but i felt no joy when they got together or devastated when they parted. Yan Hu Ba is more interesting than all three of them together.

There are massive plot holes and loose sub-plots that come out of nowhere. Strange elements appear out of place (for a minute, i thought I was watching "George of the Jungle" or "Lord of the Rings") that provide distraction from the terrible storyline. However, I can see that a lot of effort has gone into the props and costumes. And the scenery is breathtaking, especially the waterfall bit where a fight took place. But the movie is still bad.
