not to generalize, but there are mainly two looks popular to japanese celebrities--those with big eyes and round faces usually with shoulder length hair: the cute look, and those with longer faces and smaller eyes wtih longer hair: the mature look. there are a few who don't fit these categories as well.

I like Inoue Mao (can't say she's my fav b/c HYD is the only jap drama I've seen) b/c of her great acting.
