    Default Jumping across the ocean

Shi Potian is the best known ocean leaper in Jin Yong universe.

Of course, what he really did was leap off a boat and land on a piece of wooden flank that he threw across the water.

But since we're talking about jumping across the ocean, I just want people to know, that Rong Cai from "Sword Stained With Royal Blood" also performed a qualifying ocean leap:

Not only did Rong Cai land on the wooden flank, he used it as the middle station for a longer leap to the land.

Rong Cai is the answer to jumping across the ocean during the final Ming era.

It turns out Rong Cai ain't the only bloke besides Shi Potian to jump across the ocean. Zhang Cuishan also did something similar across the Qiantang River:

Interestingly, a distance of several zhang was beyond his ability to leap forward. And yet, two random guys in SPW (whom LHC owned with his eyes) could effortlessly leap several zhang backwards. Hmm...

No, unless he actually jumped across the ocean. The nickname of "Iron Palm Drifting on Water" is a reference to his lightness kung fu in general.

But Shi Potian never jump too. He uses a wood/log.
Ok, QQR never jump too. But he "walks/runs" across water unaided with his qing qong.

Poor Jin Yong...he had to settle for writing wuxia fiction, when all he really wanted to do was write Marvel and DC superhero comics.

"Jumping across the ocean" is of course an exaggeration, but that's the language that has stuck around here. If QQR actually walked on water then it would be beyond amazing. But I doubt he did.

He only walks across rivers/lakes, not oceans.
