I find it funny how you guys keep throwing these gatherings and everyone always back out at the last minute.

Here are the reasons why these gathering will never work...

Everyone's from different places and SPCNET doesn't have a big enough community to have a substantial number of members in one area. So even if there is a gathering no more than a handful of people will show up. And no one is gonna go out of their way to meet a couple of strangers from online.

What we gonna do once we meet? Pretend to know each other? That's gonna be awkward. Sure, let's go to Sin City. Anyone here up for clubbing or going to a show? No? Oh sh it, what are we gonna do now? Are we gonna hang out for the whole day or a couple of hours? There's no organization. There's no plan. Just a few idealistic individuals with the intention to meet up. "Oh! So that's how you look like!" Yeah, that's gonna motivate alot of members to come.

Not everyone is thrilled about meeting new faces. Everyone's scared of encountering weird people. There's no point in trying to ignore it. We're not that close. The guys might want to meet the girls but the girls don't wanna come if there are not enough of them. And the guys also don't wanna come if it's just a one huge sausage fest.

Haha, I think you should start a poll called "Is Radken a bitter old skeptic?"

Anyway, a Gathering CAN work. There are many ways in which it can work. One of the ways is if someone is already planning to visit a place, and several SPCNEse happen to reside there. If the foundation is there, it would be easy to meet up.

As per Sugar's request, hi I'm Sparky. THERE Sugar. I am now in the thread, although Hahvahd is actually in Cambridge so I technically don't belong.

I'd hook up with Sugar but it's bikini season so only complex carbohydrates.

All right so shopping questions for Bostonians because I am desperately in need of new skinny jeans and leggings - Newbury Street? The idea of having H&M, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel on one street sounds good to me, but if it's as crowded as Fifth Avenue (where there is a ****ing line to go into A&F ) then I'll pass. And can't be too pricey - last time I went to I think it was Copley and everything was beyond my budget. And what about dining? Lobster maybe? I can EAT so big portions please!

Loved Newbury Street! Definitely nicer shopping experience for me than Fifth Ave. I didn't find it crowded when I was there last month. In fact, all the stores were actually pretty empty (although it was raining nonstop, so that might have to do with it). I love that there is NO TAX on any apparel less than $175. Good thing I didn't know that until my last day in Boston or else I would have gone nuts.

The seafood is heaven. Lobster is yummy. Can't remember the place I had lobster... will try and find for you. If you want big portions, head to Giacomo's in the North End (I'll look for the pics I took of my seafood pasta and post up if they don't have me in them.) But be prepared to get there really early or really late because it's small and lines up quickly. Do you like oysters? Neptune (also in the North End) had delish ones! We got there after the kitchen closed so I only got to drool at all the good seafood dishes that everyone was eating, but they looked really good. Try Mike's Pastries too.... yum yum yum. Oh, and ice cream in the Hahvahd area.... mmmm

Ummm... but maybe the locals can tell you more. I'm just a tourist.

are you one of the tighta55 locals?

when it comes to traveling, tighta55es should stay at home. i hate going on trips with people who has to watch what they spend. if you can't afford to spend, then you really can't afford to travel.

yeah, copley and newbury st is kinda for the high rollers. it's where i window shop!

for more affordable shopping, i suggest downtown or haymarket area. for italian food, north end. for seafood, most ppl like to go to legal seafoods.

oh, my fav ice cream place is on newbury, called jp licks. try the cake batter flavor!

if you have a lot of money, try O-Ya restaurant. the nytimes called it the best restaurant in america.

Does it cost more than that "16 course meal (???)" restaurant in MGM Grand?

    i <3 newbury street lmao.
copley and prudential are places where tourists go just to SEE for the heck of it. i really can't afford anything there T_T except Victoria's Secret, Sephora, FCUK and the likes but mine as well hit newbury street up 'cause it has all those stores and more.
downtown is kinda ghetto =x they have h&m, macy's, and wetseal but if you like those stores, i suggest heading to cambridgeside galleria instead.

a place i really suggest going is faneuil hall. touristy yet clean at the same time unlike downtown not a lot of shops but they have urban outfitters, coach, a&f (3 floors!), godiva , nine west, VS..

umm..go to the Natick Collection if u can biatch
number of piercings - 8 and counting.

    <3 them.
