It was mentioned that the citizens of the Chinese capitol ate General Yuan alive. Is that the only "death blow" that he received?

Are you reading Bi Xue Jian lately? First the Rong Cai jumping over the ocean thread and now this...
When you're done you should watch BXJ07 to compare
Actually, I have just bought the old version starring Miu Kiu Wai and Felix Wong.
I am reading the novel also, but not quite finished yet.

oh... that version was painful. Miu Kiu Wai was all right, but the series just plummeted downhill... that's my humble opinion.
To answer your question, the answer looks to be "no:"
(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan_Ch...reer_and_death... because if Wikipedia says it, it must be true.[Yuan] was accused of collusion with the enemy and condemned to death by "death by a thousand cuts" at Ganshiqiao (甘石橋) in Beijing. It is stated the merchants, eunuchs and corrupt officials rushed to buy his body parts so they could eat it.
Right.)
Hence, he was dead first, then eaten
