Zhang Jia Ni is a newbie in TV series. She's only 20 years old. Just like Vicki Zhao and Huang Yi, she's a new Qiong Yao Girl. Her performance in Dreams Link was quite impressive for a young actress. I have been watching Dreams Link for a few days and I am up to episode 20. So far, I loved this series.
ZJN is quite pretty and took on the role in Dreams Link as Wang Zi Ling, a lively girl daring to love. Her role's nickname is Xiao Ya Zi (Little Duck). (Sounds familiar?! This is Auntie Qiong Yao's nickname calling - like Xiao Yan Zi (Little Swallow)?! Remember HZGG! Obviously, Auntie likes cutesy birds.)
The rest of the main cast is excellent according to the story. Bao Jian Feng (Bao Bao) played the handsome Chu Ling. Beautiful young veteran Qin Lan graced the screens as the flying-fairy dancer Wang Lu Ping (Zi Ling's older sister). Veteran's veteran Alex Fong dared the role as the middle-age lover Fei Yun Fan. A role of note: Taiwanese star Joanne Zeng humored the series with her renditions of song-and-dance, quite amusing. For a while, I thought she was doing the Sweety act. (Sweety: Achel Zhang, Joanne Zeng, Esther Liu)
As for me, the plot and dialogue tickled my dream-linking fantasy and kept me awake for more episodes. I really enjoy Dreams Link so far. If you like tons of messy and juicy hugs and kisses, as well as enough tears, this TV series is for you. There were enough humors to offset the sad scenes.
Qiong Yao's story was put on the screens twice before, in 1974 (movie) and in 1996 (a series), entitled "Dream Behind the Curtain". In 1974, I think it was a coincidence that the actress Wang Ping played the role of Wang Lu Ping.
