Anyone can post the chinese passage? In DGSD when YTZ injured himself because he withdrew his palm, it was stated that any other elite fighter would be able to divert the force elsewhere and only idiot YTZ turned it back on himself. Was ZWJ being an idiot at that instance too?
You Tanzhi was quite a distance away from Ah Zi, so in that case, any normal martial artist would have had the time to shift the direction of attack to avoid target. But Zhang Wuji had already made physical contact with Zhou Zhiruo, so he had no choice but retract it.

Thats the text with Zhou Zhiruo breaking ZWJ's shield.

On a side note, was it elaborated on for the reason why Yang blinded one of the Du monks and what grudges they had against each other? It also makes me think the Du monks are not as enlightened as I used to think they were as they still dwell on revenge and repaying it onto Zhang Wuji for no real good reason except him being his successor. (The Du monks should surely be able to tell he's a young, inexperienced and naive 20 year old that doesn't really deserve it)

It was no secret that the Dao-generation Shaolin monks were hypocrites like so many other wulin luminaries of the HSDS era were. Were they really dedicated to their supposed principles, they would never have countenanced the imprisonment of Tse Tsun.

Back to a point made earlier.

Actually, 3 Du-generation monks COMBINED with their formation is an equal of Zhang Wuji. But individually, they would be less than 1/3 of Wuji, because the formation increased their power (as usual). And Yang Xiao etc weren't even 1/2 of the weakest Du monk yet. So Yang Xiao is really like 1/7 or 1/8 of Zhang Wuji's power.

AFAIK we only know that Xie Xun's master Cheng Kun was the one that got the Du generation monks to quarrel with YDT, but we never hear any specifics about how he did it.
