Default Improving Martial Arts using Modern Tech?

Ok move this thread somewhere else if this isn't the section to ask this question.

Do you think we can use modern technology, science and especially computers (ie their powerful analytical capabilities) to study, combine and refine martial arts techniques and styles?

For example, in the movie Equlibrium: The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

You think we can have something that goes: New Martial Arts. Through analysis of thousands of techniques and styles and battles, NMA was created...

It would be easy to incorporate modern science into wuxia fiction to boost people's internal energy. All you have to say is that this herb/chemical entity/biological molecule mixed with the person's current biological system created a once-in-a-millennium magical thing that increased his internal energy by a factor of 5000. The formula is there, you can adjust the numbers according to your needs

Hmm ok, though I was actually thinking about real life martial arts and improving them.

After all, many athletes now have trainers who use computers to analyze their training data, physiology, etc to improve training regimens, diets, exercises, etc.

Why not do the same for martial arts, have super computers analyze all the various martial arts there is in the world and create a unified style that would potentially be superior than the rest.

    No to Equilibrium Gun kata
    Reverend Rongku prepared himself.

Suddenly, he toss his hands and screamed: "I am not human! I am an animal!"

The crowd startled at such a bizarre beginning to the story.

I can imagine that with the technology and knowledge of physics today, people like Zhang 3 Feng and Dugu Qiubai can probably create GODLIKE martial arts.

Access to martial arts training and instruction would be one of the main things. In Wuxia you can do so much useful training on your own, either through manuals or just practicing things like breathing exercises or kata like moves. If martial arts worked that way then things like YouTube would be a real effective way to share/teach techniques. Really fast and complicated sword/weapon techniques could also be broken down and analyzed in depth computationally.

In the real world, sparring takes up a much larger role in being effective (e.g. randori). Much of the value of modern science in martial arts seems to be around things like sports training physiology for things like improving endurance. Understanding how to best optimize a fitness program, how to prevent/treat injuries, etc, all improve the martial arts. That and just videos of fights and training, so someone can review their moves or review the moves of an opponent.

I think a sort of "statistics" does play a role in modern martial arts, but not in nearly the sophisticated role of Equilibrium, but just when someone is going up against an opponent, if they have lots of recorded bouts, you can watch them and get a sense of their likely moves and techniques and tailor your training and strategy around that.
