In China, what do Northerners and Southerners eat for breakfast?
In Canton, people seem to enjoy rice congees, tea, and dim sum-like small items.
In the Northeast, stereotype has it that they eat steamed buns and dumplings.

When I went to China I went to restaurant for dimsum most of the time...
In Shanghai, traditional breakfast include rice congees with variety of flavour enhancing side dishes (preserved gerkin, tofu, salty vegetable etc.). In addition, fried flat bun and you tiao. Over the past few decades, breakfast is becoming increasingly rich, and more westernised. So dumplings, xiao lun, shen jian, tofu congee, eggs on flat bun, milk instead of soy, cakes, coffee etc.
In summary a huge variety to cater for traditionalists, meat lovers, western wannabes and people who eat on the go. So hungry now, miss breakfast in shanghai (which is prob my favourite meal).

Well, I reside in a country that has a lot to offer in terms of breakfast variety. Everything, that you guys have mentioned plus lots more, beyond Chinese of course. However, since we have so much variety, it also means that it is not very healthy. Again, there are other countries that offer a wide variety. Care to guess, which country I am in?
