Charlotte Church. Her voice is one of the best I've ever come across. Too bad she's going Britney's way.

    Billy Gilman doesn't suck either.

Billy Gilman was great in his younger years. Unfortunately, once he hit puberty and his voice changed, his popularity isn't as it was.

Connie Talbot is just too cute. LOL

Best version of "Over the Rainbow" i've ever heard is by the late Eva Cassidy. beautiful...beautiful voice and technique!

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

John Williams. He may not be the greatest composer, but he's the composer I enjoy the most without a doubt. It's hard to believe that one person can produce so many memorable pieces.
My obsessions: Joy Division, New Order, Bones, The Office.

Charice Pempengco - Run To You

This little girl has an amazing vocal range. She sounds like Whitney Houston in one minute and then Mariah Carey in the next minute. She is also an amazing performer. I'm so impressed!

PS: I just found out that she's only 14 yr. old. Wow!

There are so many wonderkids nowadays. But maybe I shouldn't be surprised, considering that we have six billion people...

Good voice, but like you said, she sounds too like Whitney and/or Mariah. Since the two superstars already own those voices, she has to develop her own UNIQUE voice. Otherwise, she's just another wannabe.

Seeing that Charice is still so young, there is plenty of time for her to develop her own style and target a certain niche in the audience. She got the powerful vocals and appeared to have a bright future. Just hope she doesn't let fame get the upper hand and end up a train wreck like Britney or a druggie like Whitney.

Wow, had no idea he composed for all them movies. And most of them are movies I grew up with and came to love the themes/music. Yes definately an amazing talent especially for our time.

Another composer that i like that's a little on the more gothic?/darker side is Danny Elfman.

Yea she's good. If I had to be critical, I would say...she still lacks the power when she sings her highs. Good thing is she still just a kid and has alot of room to grow.

Just finish listening to both singers. Jed Manela is amazing. Both singers have good vocals, but, singing skill wise, Jed Manela is a level above. Jed's singing is so effortless. Even when he sings so loudly, belting out the song, you can't hear his breathing in between lines. That's some great skill. David Phelps' breathing is quite heavy.

David Foster predicts Charice will be a global star in a year. Catch her new song, Fingerprint, performed at Oprah's After Oscar Party:

This song sounds like a hit don't you think?

She's a good singer, but as for the song... I don't know, I guess it's just me but the melody is AWFUL. I just don't understand how anyone can like these type of songs. Is it a generational thing? Why do I find new pop songs so amazingly crappy?

Anyway, it's the first time I've heard of this Charice girl and honestly, I don't know if she has the looks to be successful; I have to say she's not very pretty.

Why was she being predicted to be the next global star among all the girls that can sing? She can sing of course. But, I don't find her any special. Lots of female African American and Filipino singers can belt like her and her voice is not especially beautiful or anything. It's just that she can belt. In fact, her voice reminds me of Christina Aguilera's. Does the global music scene need 2 Christina Aguileras?

I prefer Hoju's voice over hers any day.

    I'll check out Hoju.

I think Charice has a prettier voice than Christina's.

Listen to a more tender side to her voice in her rendition of My Heart Will Go On (I never really liked this song) sung on Oprah:
