Reincarnated?

Anyone read the novel from which the 1978 ATV series, Reincarnated, was adapted?

I watched part of it as a child. All I can remember is how the hero practiced a MA that has a stage where he becomes encased in a cocoon. He became much powerful and completely different looking (they used a different actor, lol) when he came out of the cocoon.

Actually, the book was made after the series. So the novel was adapted FROM the series.

Do you mean the novelization by Huang Ying (黃鷹)? In my copy, this was split into three series - 天蠶變 (The silkworm metamorphosizes a.k.a. Reincarnated), 天蠶再變 (The silkworm metamorphosizes again) and 雲飛揚外傳 (Other tales of Wun Fei Yeung a.k.a. Dragon strikes). The editing was really bad - the book divisions were made in the wrong place, so part of one story would be placed into the volume for another story, which is why you might think it ends abruptly or is incomplete. I get the impression the publishers didn't really have a clue as to what they were doing.
