Who is the most perfect "Mr. Nice Guy" in Jin Yong novels?

Duan Yu gets my vote for the biggest d!ckless wonder aka Mr Nice Guy. He's pathetic. He had a great upbringing and should've known better. The rest of the guys were orphans and grew up in abnormal circumstances so they should be excused for being stupid.

Out of the list, XuZhu is my favorite. Duan Yu wasn't really nice, he'd probably sell his own grandma for WYY. Shi PoTian was 'nice' enough, but he was kind of an idiot, so once again, Xu Zhu.

SPT is much smarter than XZ. His dumbness is more naivete than natural stupidity. In fact, JY mentioned many times that SPT learns and remembers very quickly and is a MA prodigy.

Agree with Wu Wudi. SPT is not only smart in terms of martial art. JY has took pains to mention many times that he's smart in general. Like one forum member (I think is Lav) said, he just has a late head start. He never received any proper education. He lived in near isolation (with only one person with him each time) for 18 years. His guardians (mother and Xie Yan Ke) just left him to his own devices most of the times. He only truely experience the real world starting from age 18.

His intelligence can be seen during his interaction with XYK in the hawker store. He quickly deduced that XYK did not have enough money only by his action and this he learn through observation in his short stint of wandering.

Duan Yu, after he got over his obsession with Wang Yu Yan (3rd edition) should be quite perfect.

Shi Po Tian is too oblivious to the real world. Eventhough he's intelligent, he still has the mentality of a child, and his judgement of people is often way out. He thinks everyone is good. He is seldom able to see the bad side of people and only the good. He would have died long ago if not for his good luck.

compared to xu zhu and shi potian who wouldn't hurt an ant, Ling huchong is a devil.

XZ & SPT are naive. There's no doubt that they are nice guys but b/c of the naivety, it makes them seem much nicer than the normal nice guy. I personally think LHC is a very nice guy.
