Default Is Luk Siu Fung guilty of "borrowing a sword to kill"?

In Chinese, there is an expression "jeh do saht yan" ("borrow a knife/sabre to kill a person"). This expression means that one does not personally commit an act of homicide with one's own hands, but manipulates someone else into doing it for one. It's considered a very craven, evil thing to do.

Gu Long's Luk Siu Fung did not like to kill. Indeed, despite his excellent martial arts skills, he seldom used lethal force. When he anticipated more trouble than he could singlehandedly cope with, however, Luk Siu Fung often turned to his friend, the Sword God Sai Mun Chui Sheut, for help. The problem is that Sai Mun Chui Sheut knows nothing other than lethal means of resolving problems. To call Sai Mun Chui Sheut into action is to kill whomever you're sending him up against. In effect, then, when Luk Siu Fung asks Sai Mun Chui Sheut for help, is Luk guilty of "borrowing a sword to kill" others?

No, because he does not manipulate XMCX to kill people for him. He asked XMCX for help, but he did not tell lies or half-truth or do anything to mislead XMCX into killing someone. XMCX knew exactly what he is getting himself into and XMCX has the right to refuse LXF's request.

LXF has no intention of pushing the blame on XMCX if anyone come and take revenge which is usually the intention of a person who use the "borrow a knife/sabre to kill a person" tactic.

What LXF did is more like hiring an assassin.

If XMCX want to kill someone, even LXF didn't ask him, XMCX will still kill that guy.
If XMCX don't want to kill that guy, even if LXF ask him, he won't kill that guy.

OK...perhaps Luk Siu Fung was not guilty of "borrowing a sword to kill" in the actual sense of the phrase.

Still, Luk Siu Fung is known for not liking to kill. That's why he almost never personally killed when he confronted his enemies. If he calls in Sai Mun Chui Sheut, however, then almost certainly there will be heavy casualties. How does Luk Siu Fung reconcile this with his aversion to killing?

I always figured it was more a case of Lu calling in Ximen when he wasn't confident that he was able to take down a high caliber opponent.

    傅紅雪冷道,“現在你臉上豈非已經戴上了個面具?”
