Strictly Come Dancing 《舞动奇迹2》 Season 2

Strictly Come Dancing season 2 starts from April 17 till June 6th, 2008. HunanTV will be broadcasting live, while TVB will air the show on weekend's prime time. In addition, the show will be aired in US, Europe, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan by TVBI.

The format for 2nd season is a little different as normal people get to participate as well. Like previous season, TVB and HunanTV each will send 10 celebrities participants. Meanwhile normal contestants from 7 states in China will contest against each another to have a chance to dance with the celeb finalists in the last 2 weeks.

In a little over one month, 20 celebrity contestants will battle it out on the dance floor. Who you are rooting for?

The show is hosted live at HunanTV, so it'll be in Mandarin. Grace Wong is last year's MHK 1st runner up.

p.s Someone will eventually upload it, I was looking toward that as my online speed at home is darn slow for live streaming.

btw sehseh, do u know if tvb ever came up w/ a canto ver of season 1 or they are gunna have a canto ver of season 2? its so hard to listen to mandarin i have to replay it like 3 times to understand 75% of the stuff

I think only Michael (and maybe Carlo) since they're the finalist of 1st season.

TVB does have an edited version (more compact format) but they did not dub it into Canto, I think. Just take it as a mandarin language lesson, though their accent are a bit thick.

I found this forum while searching everywhere for Strictly Come Dancing news in English.. coz I can't read Chinese lol

I'm a fan of the girl from Thailand. (in Hunan side)
Her Thai nickname is "Preaw" and I think her chinese name is Sha Li (comes from her real name "Anussara", i supposed )

Another contestant from Thailand is Dong. His chinese name is Dong Fang.

After the success of the first series last year, TVB will be joining forces with Hunan TV once again to produce a second series of the celebrity dance competition Strictly Come Dancing <舞動奇跡>.

A press event was held yesterday to reveal the Hong Kong representatives for this year's show, including Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Timmy Hung (洪天明), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Angela Tong (湯盈盈) and Derek Kok (郭政鴻).

Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲) will be hosting the show.

Some of last year's contestants, including Michael Tse (謝天華), Joe Ma (馬德鐘) and Janet Chow (周家蔚) also attended to show their support.

Kevin will be bearing the responsibility of team captain this year and asked if he plans to follow in the footsteps of last year's captain, Michael, and bring back the top award, he smiled that he is not confident because dance has never been his strength. He said that he is no comparison to Michael and because his interest in dance has never been very great, he thought the company was joking when he was offered this job. However, he accepted the challenge in the end because he would like to learn something new.

The group will be heading to Hunan next week to begin training for the competition and they are all very nervous and excited. Myolie felt that this is the biggest challenge she has ever faced.

There have been reports recently about Timmy and Janet being spotted on a date and suggesting that the former beauty queen was extremely flirtatious during the meal. The rumoured couple happily posed for photographs together at yesterday's event, but did seem a little awkward. Fortunately, Michael stepped in with a joke to break up the embarrassment.

Janet said that she was a little unhappy about the reports and felt that some of the words used were rather demeaning. She added that she is not a flirty type and that Timmy had picked her up on that day to attend a dinner date with a group of friends. Janet pointed out that she is concentrating on her career at the moment and there is nothing abnormal about making friends.

Asked if there is any chance of a romance blossoming, Janet said that she is still young and Timmy is a charming and pleasant man, but she does not fancy him at the moment.

Timmy was very complimentary of Janet, saying that she is good fun. He said that he cannot tell what may happen in the future, but if he does find a new girlfriend, he will reveal it to everyone.

The format is the same as last year, 10 male contestant and 10 female contestant battle in their category. Each week 2 person from each catergory with lowest score will be eliminated. After 8 people have been eliminated, the remaining 12 will be paired up with one another via voting. Every week onwards 2 more pair will be eliminated until the final 3 pair.

Yes, the HK artists will eventually be paired up with HunanTV rep midway. It'll be interesting to see what kind of chemistry they have.
