Default Do the Wudang Heroes have a shot at reaching LOCH Great level?

The 7 Heroes of Wudang in HSDS are among the most talented in wulin. Most, if not all, of the 7, had invented their own martial arts -- a sign of great talent. Zhang Sanfeng praised Yu Lianzhou's invention as a masterpiece. They also learned Great-level martial arts from a Great. And yet, it seems they were still short of achieving Great-level.

They lacked a freak accident or a special boost. But then, I don't think any of the original Greats was known to have received a big boost. So it is still possible to reach Great-level by the "normal" route.

ROCH Great-level is out of the question for them, but I wonder if the Wudang Heroes have a shot at reaching LOCH Great-level? They probably weren't too far behind by the end of HSDS. And, let's not forget an important feature of their orthodox internal energy, is that it improves FASTER as you become more powerful! So they should receive a significant boost from age 50+ till their bodies run out of steam. In particular, Zhang Cuishan, the teacher's pet, might have surpassed the other ones if he had a chance to live longer.

I think so. But they'd have to lock themselves away for 5 years and do nothing but train.

I think its very much possible but should take at least 10-20 years from the end of HSDS.

Get ZWJ to write down the 9 Yang manual for them.

Retreat to Wudang mountain in seclusion for some years.

    That should do it.

While we are on this subject. How good do you think a 30/40/50/60 etc etc Zhang Sanfeng/Junbao would have been? Could a 20 year old Zhang Junbao match a 20 year Guo Jing? Could a 40 year Zhang match a 30 year Yang Guo?

Much of Z3F's MA was invented by himself over the course of an extremely long life time. Also, his internal energy was slowly cultivated over the years, as he had no freak accidents. I don't think Z3F at such a young age can compare to 20 yr GJ or 30 yr YG.

He had the talent, and the looks too. Seeing that ZWJ got part of his genes from ZCS, I don't think ZCS was that bad in terms of potential.

I always think that ZCS could elevate to Great status if he had lived a much peaceful life.

Cheung 3 Fung judged Cheung Chui San the most talented among his seven senior disciples. Among the Mo Dong 7 Heroes, Cheung Chui San was the one that Cheung 3 Fung believed really had the talent to truly master Mo Dong Sect's martial arts. Even CCS's six martial brothers believed, to a man, that their fifth brother was the most gifted among them.

Not forgetting, ZCS also had a certain special aura and culture that makes him look so well refined and cultured. He could and should have had a great career in the Wulin fraternity.
