Why did Gok Dai Tung found the Mt. Hua Sect rather than continue the legacy of CJ?

Gok Dai Tung was one of Central Divinity Wong Chung Yeung's seven original disciples, and as such, was one of the important seniors in the Cheun Jen Sect during the period of LOCH and ROCH. Like his martial brothers and sister, Gok was very proud of his Cheun Jen Sect heritage, and loyal to the legacy of his teacher.

After the events of ROCH, the Cheun Jen Sect fell upon hard times as a wulin sect, and would never again be one of wulin's great powers. Gok Dai Tung, however, apparently founded the Mt. Hua Sect, which from the time of HSDS onward, was a major wulin power (on par with Mo Dong Sect, Ngor Mei Sect, and Kunlun Sect).

But why did Gok Dai Tung found his own Mt. Hua Sect instead of continuing to teach under the banner of the Cheun Jen Sect? Isn't that disrespectful to the memory of his teacher?

Every single member of the Quanzhen Seven, historically speaking, founded their own branch of Quanzhen sect, which drew from Quanzhen teaching, but with their own imprints.

Qiu Chuji founded Longmen (Dragon Gate), Ma Yu founded Yuxian (Encountering Immortals), Sun Buer founded Qingjing (Tranquility), Tan Chudan founded Nanwu (Southern Void). Wang Chuyi, Hao Datong, and Liu Chuxian respectively founded the Mt. Yu, Mt. Hua, and Mt. Sui branches of Quanzhen.

It is considered 'normal' for students of a great teacher to later go and found their own sect, based upon their own interpretations of his teachings.
