I HIGHLY doubt it'll air in the US. The only chinese films that air in the US are only martial arts films with VERY famous directors. And the pictures are considered artistic. On the lines of House of Flying Daggers and Hero.

For the United States, it's an unknown director and pretty much unknown actors, although some might know Jay Chou from Curse of the Golden Flower and Anthony Wong from The Painted Veil or Infernal Affairs, so it probably won't do well even in limited release.

On a positive note, I saw the trailer for this movie recently and it actually looks pretty good. It looks a little *darker* than I expected and the story is pretty intriguing, and I'm looking forward to the music as well.

Not picking on the mature, I guess being Asian in trying to figuring out your true age is a big mystery; look too youthful, it looked I'd never aged a bit, kinda like a HS student. Part of the Asian package, does goes a long way.

Looks like a thriller from the trailer, but it is a drama/romance... not sure who wrote the scores but probably it will be him, he's a crazy pianist...

The plot is not new but still quite touching at the end... The piano scores are fantastic, Jay can really play the piano very well!

    A question though :
    click to show/hide spoilers
I don't get the part where he played 'Secret' at the old piano room to travel 20yrs back. I thought when Rain used the correction pen to write/confess her love on the desk and she died after finishing the last word... How did Jay able to see her again when he travel back in time and even graduate in same class as Rain? He managed to change the past and future??

My understanding is that a parallel universe is created when Jay played "Secret" on the piano to travel 20 years back. There are now two realities: One, where Rain dies after meeting Jay and another where Jay dies in the present but lives on with Rain 20 years in the past. Ok, I know, there are a lot of questions unanswered and lots of plot holes...Like if Jay travels back 20 years before he and Rain met and then lived on with her, where is he now? He should be still in the present but just 20 years older.

This is a good movie, nice to look at and great music. Much better than I expected. I thought that the second girl, played by Alice Tseng is prettier and more endearing though. Some parts don't make sense. Example:

the Alice Tseng character was shown clearly talking to Rain during the piano competition?! How does one explain that when only Jay is supposed to be able to see Rain in the present?
