Default Jin Yong protagonists who start out at their peak..

Most of Gu Long main characters are already at their peak level of martial arts when they first make the appearance in the story: Shen Lang, Xie XiaoFeng, Xiao ShiYi Lang, Chu LiuXiang, Lu XiaoFeng, and of course Li XunHuan! However in JY world, the only character I can think of is legendary Xiao Feng..

    Are there more ???

Not that I know of. XF is the only one.

I'm not sure about Xueshan Feihu (haven't read it), but it may have started out with adult near-peak Hu Fei. Someone who has read the novel can tell us more.

It's one of JY novels I know nothing about.. But from his popular stories, XF is the only one that comes to mind.

Kiu Fung (unlike most other Jin Yong protagonists) debuts at an extremely high level of martial arts, but even he cannot say that he had attained his peak at the time of his first appearance: his martial arts would actually improve during DGSD, albeit not by leaps and bounds as did the martial arts of other protagonists.

Correct me if I am wrong but it's only in new edition where JY mentions something about XF and XZ refining 28 dragon slaying palm into 18 dragon palm.. However in the original edition, there is no mention of XF improving his martial arts during the novel..

Read the post by Leviathan: ""Sword of the Yueh Maiden" was intended to be the first of 33 short stories, each telling the tale of a superhuman hero/heroine of ancient Chinese folklore. These 33 stories would have formed a different world on its' own, where the rules and standards of the Jin Yong Wuxia Universe do not apply. "Sword of the Yueh Maiden" is therefore not considered to be part of Jin Yong's wuxia canon, and Ah Qing is not a person from Jin Yong Wuxia Universe. The novel is not even considered to be a wuxia story by Mr. Louis Cha himself. "

Since Hu Fei appear first in Xue Shan Fei Hu. He can be considered as protagonist who started out at his peak.

What about Chan Ka Lok of Book and Sword? He starts out as a very powerful man but not the peak of his lifetime.
