Default Photo File: All Known Adaptation Versions of Luk Siu Fung and Sai Mun Chui Sheut

Someone put these together on a Gu Long fansite. Pretty interesting photo comparisons of all known adaptation versions of Luk Siu Fung and Sai Mun Chui Sheut:

I couldn't find one for Fa Mun Lau. Of course, Wong Wan Choi was the only actor who played this role in two entirely different eras (1970s and 1980s).

Also, I wonder if Fa Mun Lau made it into every LUK SIU FUNG adaptation. Luk Siu Fung appears in every LUK SIU FUNG story (duh, he's the title character) and Sai Mun Chui Sheut appears in most of them, but Fa Mun Lau appears in only a handful of the stories.

I've never seen any of the series. but looking at the pictures, I liked the first ones better.

Damian Lau and Wong Yeun Sun did set a high standard for those who came after them to follow.

I feel nobody has really come close in either role since.

Ekin "wooden acting" Cheng is the perfect choice for Simon the "cool" Snow Blower.
The less he talks, the less worse his acting seems.

Julian Cheung's Luk Siu Fung actually comes very close. I prefer Julian's LSF over Damien's although Damien comes a close second. But, people who has watched both versions and still think Damien is the best LSF also think that Julian did a great potraying Luk Siu Fung.

I agree with you on Wong Yuen Sun though. Of the 4 Simons I've seen, only Wong Yuen Sun was able to give that frosty air. The other Simons, although were cool (or tried to act cool), didn't manage to give off that frost.

Yeah, Fa Mun Lau wasn't in all versions. He was not in the Nick Cheung's version.

The Jimmy Lin version of Luk Siu Fung is so HS (hip & suck)!

I like Damien Lau's and Liu De Kai's (taiwanese actor) version best! For a younger generation, Cheung Chi Lam didn't do so badly.

Simon Snow Blower.... ( ).... Yu Rong Guang's version reminds me of the White Hair Bride....male version (Maybe White Hair Groom?). That Yue Hua guy...... is that Miss Simone Snow Blower? No comments for the rest of the Blower...I mean, Snow Blower.
What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!

I really need to get my hands on these.

Ahhhh! I could never get over the whole Simon the Snow Blower thing. It just sounds so terrible LOL ... I really just wish they called him XiMen ChuiXue or Sai Mun Chui Sheut.

I feel that XMCX is a hard character to portray, due to his manners. I haven't seen any of the series, but I sort of have a very high expectation for the actor portraying him.

I haven't watch his series but judging from the pics Wong Yuen Sun really does have that frosty aura. Maybe he has read the novel and is a fan. Someone who is a fan of the story can definitely portray a character better.

Also, the fourth pic of LXF does not have a mustache.I recall that LXF briefly shaved his mustache in the novel to enlist the help of XMCX, did that actor portrait the whole series without a mustache? Because that would make for the worst LXF portrayal.

The 8th picture features an actor that looks really young for the part. He would be good for the role of one of Dugu Yihe's (the powerful leader of E'mei sect) students.

Yes, what the hell were they thinking.
Simon the Snow Blower may be frosty but he ain't no woman!
Makes you want to cover your eyes.

Yue Hua gets my vote as the worst StSB,
while Jimmy Lin is definitely the worst LXF.

ditto! and have you noticed some of the ridiculous moustaches in later adaptations -- people, the book clearly says that his moustache was the same thickness as his eyebrows! the "LXF of the four eyebrows" isn't some random nickname. learn. to. read.

Was there a drag queen version? Why are LXF and XMCX wearing women makeup LOL!

Most of them look hideous/gay and/or both.

I think it's really hard to pull off the LXF look.

Yu Rong Guang's XiMen looks... like Liang Zi Weng from LOCH.

BTW, flying fox, you are a JDSJ fan too right? Have you seen the Taiwanese JDSJ in the 80s with two females playing HWQ and XYE? LOL. Talk about bad casting. Sharon Yeung (Mu Nian Ci in LOCH82) played the role of Xiao Yu Er.

Has anyone seen Yu Rong Guang's version of the LXF series? Why are the characters 'xi', 'men', 'chui', 'xue', sewn on his garment?
