What kind of food do you -hate-

I don't hate food. However if I have a choice, I will not eat food that's

- flavorless/tasteless such as plain porridge, oatmeal and tofu;
- spicy such as Szechuan dishes, Thai's Tom Yam Kung soup, Korean's Kimchi

When I travel abroad, I don't eat ice or drink cold beverages that are not bottled.

It's oK. I do the same with cheese. The worst thing in the world must be macoroni & cheese. I think it's worse than rat poison. Can't believe they feed that sh~t to people.

It's kinda like making lasagna actually, but a lot easier.

1. Boil macaroni until cooked. Drain and set aside.

2. Make bechamel sauce (a.k.a. white sauce). It's the type use for lasagna, but stir in shredded cheese when the sauce is done/cooked and cooled down a little. Don't heat the sauce with the cheese, or it'll get all gooey.

3. Shred carrots, mushrooms (any sort), peppers (a.k.a. capsicum, any colour), onions and zucchini. Omit the veggies that you don't like or aren't available.

4. Stir fry a small quantity of minced meat (beef, chicken, pork) with a bit of oil, and some chopped garlic/shallots (if you're up to the extra work). The meat should be fully cooked.

5. Shred more cheese.

In a large oven-proof dish/casserole, mix all the ingredients listed #1-#5 above.

Top with a layer of shredded cheese (and a layer of breadcrumbs, if you like).

Bake until the cheese is melted.

Eat.

If you have guests, bake the macaroni mixture in individual bowls.
Serve with a crisp salad.

Tuna fish

I'm not usually a big fan of pork. There are a few exceptions such as baby back ribs and wonton.

Though, I do enjoy pork rib soup.

Which eatable food items do you feel is overrated?

For me, it is bread. I must give dues to the European bread-makers b/c their bread tastes infinitely better than the bread in the US. But still, compared to Chinese food, it falls short.

I can appreciate the best in bread, but normal bread, is no big deal and I feel that I shouldn't have to pay more than 50 cents for it. So needless to say, I've never been to Panera Bread!

have you tried asian-style bread? they make it much more softer, chewier (and a bit sweeter). it's lovely!

I can usually eat almost any kinds of food, but I can't stand bagels. Even with cream/mayonaise (sp) it's still very bland. The annoying thing is that's the only thing they feed you on those ski buses.

Even blueberry bagels? Those are very tasty. I can even eat them w/o cream cheese--and I LOVE cream cheese .

Dislike most internal organ related dishes.

So outside of meat, cartilage and the occasional skin, everything else from the animal is disgusting, with few exceptions (giblets).

Certain seafood, I don't like, generally the fishy ones.

Soggy vegetables (cooked zucchini, maori fruit etc.)

Alas, I had some French-Vietnamese bacon-filled bread, and it was wholesomely delicious. I had to go back to get another one.

But the good taste was because of the greasy meat, not the bread. Any time you put greasy meat in bread, it = yum. Baozi, anyone?

Haha! I didn't know there was a name for this; thanks for telling me!
To be honest, I added meat and veggies to mac and cheese just to make it more balanced. But when I'm lazy/famished, I just fry the boiled pasta (regardless of shape/name), meat and veggies up like a Chinese noodle dish!

Don't like chewy things like squid or octopus. As a kid I hated liver and parsnips, but now I like the first [if the membrane and blood vessels are removed] and don't mind parsnips [which I think a cheese sauce might improve]. .
