Certain names for ethnic restaurants, rendered in English, have an unfortunate (but often humorous) unintended effect. For example, I've seen Vietnamese restaurants with the following names:
Pho King (pronounce that aloud, with the proper Vietnamese pronunciation of "pho")
My Dung
The people who named these restaurants had perfectly benign intentions when bestowing these names on the establishments. Nevertheless, the names do pave the way for juvenile humor among the English-literate sector.
