Damn, iPod won't turn on

It was working fine this morning. I listened to music on my iPOD as I drove to work. However, this afternoon, it would no longer turn on. It's only about 2 years old. This is already my second iPOD failure. I am wondering if these things just don't last very long (as in: more than 2 years)?

Even when I connect this iPOD to the computer's USB drive, nothing happens

I got it to wake up this morning

I tried to reset it yesterday, but no matter which combination of buttons I pressed, it would not wake up. But I think it was b/c I only pressed each time for 5 seconds. This morning I did not stop pressing for a long time, and it rose from the dead.

Thank you both for suggestions. Still don't know what the heck made it hibernate in the 1st place.

Sensei, I had the same problem with my Creative MP4 player too. I was advised that there is most likely a crush in the system due to improper handling. Maybe the player had too many files in it, it gets heavier and a sudden switch off may caused it to crush within.
