Linked Cities= The Count of Monte Cristo?

Perhaps this may have been realized by many already....but..Linked Cities/A Deadly Secret has a striking resemblance to The Count of Monte Cristo..

... the epilogue at the end of the story that describes how JY's grandfather, a government official in the Qing administration, rescued a man from prison. This man's story eventually became the inspiration for the Linked Cities.
