Wow, TVB is really starting to promote Wayne. Good luck to Wayne.

Don't you guys think Wayne is a tad too young to be playing Ron's dad?

You never made a clear indication that Wayne would not be the father!

The assumption that Wayne would take on the role of 'father' to Ron is ASSUMED (and in a way correct) because if Kiki (Ron's mother) married Wayne, than Ron would be Wayne's son (whether it is biological or not).

You haven't mentioned in any way or manner that Kiki's son (played by Ron) belonged to her and another man!

Leaving that information out would only make readers confused, therefore QUESTION!

LOL sehseh is clear as daylight...Ron is KARA Hui's son NOT Kiki...lol mistaking Kara for Kiki is pretty funny. Anyway with that being said, there shouldn't be any assumption that Wayne is Ron's father - biological or not.

Never once I indicate that Wayne married Kiki or involved with her romantically.

There's plenty of mis-information from that AsianEu post.

The information about how many years it took to write, episode numbers, pharmacy and stuff refers to the mainland version.

    * Script took 40 years to develop with over 100 directors + cast.
This already tell you it's mis-info. If TVB is willing to spend so many years to develop and budget a series this proportion, won't they be assigning their big fadans and siusangs to star in it? This info actually refers to the mainland version.

TVB version is not about pharmacy. Those who have watched the mainland version would knew that the information is copied from the original piece. TVB will not be making the same story.

They already held the costume tryout - sorry I was away from online world the last 2 days. I'll update this thread later this evening (It's Monday... and busy as hell at office).

    The title is now 红粉商人

    红粉 means rouge
    商人 means businessmen/entrepreneur

Why is TVB requiring actors to shave their head for Qing Dynasty type series? It wasn't a requirement in the past like before 2003 or so.

No, TVB normally requires their actors to shave their head for Qing production, even for pre-2003 production.

It was only some small scale series that they does not require shaved heads.

Default Ron Ng To Lose Hair For New TVB Drama

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/4967/62ivi93u18eaad6ij7.jpg')

    26 July 2008
    Emma Lam

Ron Ng (吳卓羲), Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), Suki Chui (徐淑敏) and Wayne Lai (鄧萃雯) were among the cast members that attended the costume fitting ceremony for new TVB series Lady Merchant <紅粉商人> yesterday.

As the 25-episode story is set in a Qing dynasty backdrop, the male cast members will all need to shave their heads to tie in with the period. Ron revealed that this will be taking place when filming officially starts in early August. Asked if he will be upset about losing his hair, he smiled that he will have to put plenty of sun lotion on the top of his head to avoid being sunburnt, but said that it was fine for men to be hairless.

This is Suki's second period drama series and in the storyline, which is set in a big family, her character will have to seduce Ron. She made it clear that if there are any rumours emerging during filming about her and Ron, they will not be true, laughing that Ron is quite a gossip magnet, so she is expecting some stories to brew.

Asked if she felt that Ron is not a man who can provide a sense of stability, Suki said that she did not actually know him very well, so she did not want to comment. However, she made it clear that it is her character who is attracted to him and in real life, this would not happen.

For Sheren, it has been four years since she last appeared in a period drama and she smiled that with so many other female cast members, then there is plenty of competition to look beautiful, so no matter how much hard work she has to put in, she will always make sure that she looks her best. She said that she is glad to be a junior among the cast, which will include veterans such as Susan Tse (謝雪心), Elliot Yue (岳華), Kiki Sheung (商天娥) and Kara Hui (惠英紅).
