Besides, most countries tend to only broadcast things related to their own country. The Canadian channels mostly just broadcast Canadian stuff even though they're all just losing. Clearly I have no faith for the Canadian team, but like I said, Canada is only good at the Winter Olympics.

Canada used to be not too bad, but athletes cannot continue performing if they get no support from their government and this is the case with Canada. When it comes to amateur sports, Canada is a third world country and worse; athletes are left on their own, some to pay everything by themselves. Things are starting to change though and the COC have hired experienced people to manage amateur sport programs in goal for future Olympics. The government have recently invested money into the programs, but a little too late to have results for these Beijing Olympics. We're expecting better results in London in 2012, but our goal for the next Winder Olympics are very high, we're a winter nation after all.

on an off note, i had no idea i got canandian channels here. i can watch olympics w/o nbc now! sweet

I felt bad for him when he just stopped in the middle of his routine. Poor thing.

If so, he just suddenly stopped...like he lost his balance or something, or his hands suddenly didn't have enough powder? He got deducted quite a bit of points for that, and I felt so bad because his routine was actually great.

unfortunate mistakes happen i suppose, the same way Yang Wei sat on the parallel bars and the american girls kept falling off the uneven bars...

though i have to admit (with much evil), sometimes it's really funny watching people fall, esp when they fall on their faces like that one chinese girl on the vault.

Aw, I HATE it when people fall. It's so horrible. Even when people from the US or Japan (I don't like either country) fall, it really sucks. After all that practice.

This is for gymnastics or figure skating. For other things, not so much.

It's pretty funny if they sit on the bars and stuff, but dang, I cringe so bad if they fall on their faces or the girls fall on the balance beam right where it hurts the most.

China may have the most Gold Medals right now, but we're only about 10% (?) into the games. There is ample time left for someone to catch up, so I wouldn't place a sure bet on China yet, although it wouldn't surprise me if they did win the most gold, and of course I would be most satisfied with that scenario (well, it would be even more pleasing if an ELOC country would win, but that probably won't happen).

I wouldn't say China is going to beat the US. I'm not even sure if China will have more gold medals because it's really early. The events that the US do great in hasn't been finished. The US usually rack up a lot of medals in swimming (still going, and Michael Phelps could bring 6 more golds to his already 2) and many in Athletics.

Watching the men's gymnastics team final right now.....Chen Yibing's pretty cute. And wow, his ring routine was amazing.

The US team is doing pretty darn good so far.

And Phelps....good luck to him.

Congrats to China for winning the gold in men's gymnastics. And it was hilarious seeing the US celebrating for winning bronze while the Japanese men were sullen after winning silver. Kevin Tan's performance.....just wow......I felt so bad for him.

China practically stole this one from the Japanese. But they definitely deserve it though. I'm happy that the USA got bronze...it was such a close call that I closed my eyes a few times when the Americans were performing.
