    Default Google Chrome

    Anyone using it yet?

What do you think of it?

Is it better or worse than IE 8? FF3?

I'm typing this message using Chrome. In terms of speed, Chrome seems to be faster than FF2, FF3 and IE8. The interface is quite well designed too. But Chrome lacks some useful functions in comparison with those browsers. I thinks you should stick to IE 8 or FF until Google releases the revised official version.

Been using chrome for the last 3-4 hours.

Some good stuff- seems pretty stable.

    But somehow seems too minimalist.

I agree that Chrome is very fast. However, it lacks basic but important features. For example, it auto-installed in Mandarin version and there's nowhere I can switch the language.

There is no options or tool bar anyway so this test version is really not much. Hopefully an improved beta version will come out soon.

I've been using it too, it's pretty fast, faster than my IE, FF3 and Opera. But a little too minimalistic at the moment, and it doesn't have mouse gestures, the one thing I can't live without.

Not to mention no ad blocking D:

It conflicts with Symantec Endpoint, so I cannot use it on my work computer.

    1. Open Regedit,
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\SysPlant,
    3. Open the Start DWORD.
    4. Change the value to 4.
    5. Restart your comp.
Now your Google Chrome should work.

I like it a bit but it's still lacking some features.

According to the Symantec forum, this is only for unmanaged Symantec Endpoint. The Endpoint on my work computer is managed.

If so, you can try this: Click on the shortcut of Google Chrome on your desktop, open Properties, in the Target line, right after the last double quotation mark add a space and type --no-sandbox, click Ok.

new question: when you click to download a file, can Chrome open it automatically instead of downloading it? For example, if I click on a PDF file, I want it to load in the browser, but right now it asks me to download it instead.

Also, when I use Chrome to type this msg, pressing [Ctrl + B / I / U] doesn't add the bold/italicize/underline codes to the text, as it would in another browser. Any way to make it work?

I'm starting to see the missing features of Chrome.
