Default what's the greatest upset in a wuxia battle?

So what's the greatest upset in a wuxia battle? I'm talking about a battle where the victor was hugely underrated against the opposition either theoretically on paper or by reputation.

A parallel would be Roger Federer losing against a guy ranked outside the top 100 in tennis.

"Invulnerable" Chan Yeun Fung getting stabbed to death by six-year old, completely martial arts untrained Gwok Jing in Mongolia.

Eh? I thought Mr. Mo was outclassing Yue Lingshan until the end (which was basically a sneak attack). I gotta reread that now

Jiumozhi versus Xu Zhu. He had just wtfpwned one of Shaolin's finest monks and demonstrated tremendous superiority, then an essentially nameless low-generation monk shrugs off his toughest blows and gives him a hellacious fight.

Greatest upset in terms of ability, or in terms of popular perception?

In terms of perception, I bet everyone was like, "wtf?" when some janitor from Shaolin punked a bunch of elite pugilists.

In terms of ability, in a straightforward fight with no trickery, I'd go for Guo Jing holding off Ouyang Feng and Qiu Qianren simultaneously.

Could that be conidered a "wuxia battle?"

Copper Corpse captured Guo Jing and Guo Jing just frantically grabbed his dagger thrust is into him. So is it really a battle?

Not a shocker for the reader though. Since it was long revealed that XZ had gathered the unprecedented internal power and learnt skills from TSTL and the secret cave.

Wei Xiaobao stabbed the Chief of the Divine Dragon cult, who is 1000x more powerful than him, to death.

Yea but as CC suggested, not a shocker for the readers.

Default Who is the Sword God?

Kind of off topic but who on earth is the Sword God. Everyone keeps talking about him but I have no idea who he is.

Another candidate: Kunlun 3 Saints He Zudao, who was 100+ times better than young Zhang Junbao in terms of martial arts, not being able to defeat his opponent in 10 moves.

    That's a good one.

I really want to know what kind of advice YG gave him if it was able to let him stand up to He Zudao.

PJ will tell you all about him. But for starters:

He is a minor character who appeared in DGSD. He got smashed by Xuzhu and was never heard of again. He is apparently much better than what the novel portrayed him to be.

YG only taught ZJB a few stances with which to fight Xiaoxiang Zi, but perhaps more significantly, also taught him how a fighter should think. Most of the martial arts he displayed against HZD were a set of minor fist techniques demonstrated by GX's arhat statuettes, but the ability to apply them in battle might have been influenced or inspired by YG.
