Help! What movie is it?

Hi all. I'm having trouble recalling the name of this movie:

It's a chinese/HK movie from approx. 1996-2004. It is a love story with an ending that has the male and female character finally meet eachother after separating for months (or years?). This scene takes place in a peach blossom scenery. There's also a part in the movie where the female lead writes a note inside an umbrella(or possibly some other object) for the male lead, but he does not find out about the note until months(or years) later. I know the description is a bit vague, but anyone whoe can identify this movie would be a great help? Thanks!

At first I thought that it was a Chinese Odyssey 2002 until the umbrella note part.
