Default BREAKING NEWS: Stephen Chow as Kato & Green Hornet Director

    Yes, you read it correct.

Stephen Chow as Kato and Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, Pineapple Express & Zack and Miri Make a Porno) as Green Hornet for a new movie Green Hornet which will be directed by Stephen Chow. This movie will be Chow's American directorial debut. With Seth Rogen/Chow as the main lead, this I think will be an action comedy in the vain of Shaolin Soccer.

For the uninitiated, Green Hornet is a 60s tv series where Kato is played by the late Bruce Lee.

There you go Jacky, hope this is more kickass/badass/funny than the Rush Hour series.

    Release Date: June 25, 2010

    Amazing.

I'm still waiting on Kung Fu Hustle 2. I guess that would never happen.

Kung Fu Hustle 2 is in production now. Chow will start filming Green Hornet after Kung Fu Hustle 2 is done.

Man - did you read some of their threads from IMDB? Seems like they didn't really like Stephen Chow's KFH 1

I didn't like the first one myself. Overall, it was a crappy film if you judge it as a whole.

Anyway, Stephen Chow who's also the producer for the upcoming movie, Dragonball, said he should only direct stories he had created. What changed his mind?

It was radio series long before TV took off. The original radio Kato was described as the heroes 'faithful Filipino valet, Kato'.

There's a site on the net [I forget it's name] that features a lot of the old radio series.

It's Seth Rogen wicked new movie. Previously the MPAA stamp it with NC17 rating, but now it got an hard R rating without any edit/cut. It's about a couple who try to make money by making a home-brew porno movie using themselves as actor/actress

i also think it wasn't one of his best. it seemed like he re-hashed a lot of old jokes for the american audience who aren't familiar with his older movies.

Which makes me wonder, will he play Kato like Bruce Lee did, silent and deadly or more like himself, silly and full of slapstick comedy?

I'm sure this is going to be a slapstick comedy but with big action sequence like Kung fu Hustle or Get Smart. Seth Rogen in it confirmed it.

Holy sh*t. My favorite Chinese comedic actor and one of my favorite American ones are together in a movie! A must-watch in my book.

    Latest Development:

    - Seth Rogen Serious About THE GREEN HORNET Bein' Funny!

"One day we want to make a serious film and then Stephen Chow comes in with a good idea and we're like, 'Well it's funny.' Should we not do it because we originally wanted to do a serious film? We come from, nah F*** it, we'll just take the idea that seems good."
