"And you have to understand spcnet represent a random pick of the wuxia community."

spcnet is not that small, its not like I'm picking 5 people at random.
    how large was your class?

compared to the real world and the netizen world...yea, it's pretty small.

and as i have mentioned above, the chances of one finding spcnet is random, but the chances of one staying and becoming a frequent poster is not. It is in fact, highly selected.

Its pretty small but its random. No forces are selecting specific genders from this pool.

They were almost 200 people (co-ed).

Fine, i haven't gone to school in asia before, I can't provide a different experience. I'll give you this one. But just to ask, what was the ratio you got? Are you counting readers or avid fans?

Thats not true. As I said, its not like its amazingly small like 3-5. Its 20+ which may not give the best picture but good enough for this discussion.

I think the question I asked was that "are you into wuxia?" etc. But I don't see the difference between readers/avid fans. If there are as many female readers, there should be as many female fans. Unless theres something stopping females from converting from readers to fans lol.

you can be a reader but not a fan. it's certainly not the same thing. just out of curiosity, the male fans you know also join specnet?

i think everyone is missing the point here. back to topic ppl.

if wuji was a girl...why can't we just have 4 girls be in love with her? in male costume.

i've always been a fan of shoujo ai aka yuri.
Currently in love with Bae Suzy...for superficial reasons.

But as we cannot ask the world, or ask enough (100,000? 1 million? 1 billion?), Any sort of random, not minute sample space is more than enough.

As I said before, no relavance if a person is a fan or reader.

Nope they did not join spcnet. But I did. But around the world, there are be people like me (like you), male and female. But there are less females like me than males, for no good reason except the obvious one.

Lol not sure that population is large enough to justify that change. But to think about it, maybe certain MALES will be drawn into reading that too haha.

then you'll have to do a some stats check, which i cannot remember the name of. but i'm quite sure 20 is a small number. plus, i cannot think of 20 active members as of the moment.

Lol where did you get that impression from? When I said "females like me", I meant female wuxia fans like me. The common point of being a wuxia fan, not being female.

Ah lets not get into actual statistics. But its just a general picture I want to express. There are more males than females on spcnet and since there are no specific forces that justifies the difference, spcnet is a representation of the wider community, not the best one though.

All this time I thought flamer was a guy. No kidding. I've gotten quite a few people's gender here wrong...that just really shows you that you really don't know if the other person is really a male or female. For all we know, all the frequent posters like CC, Dennis Chen, TC (gasps), etc. etc. might be females.

NVM. Forget it. Yours truly up there forgot to specify specifically what (s)he meant.

wait, i'm still a little confused. what is flamer's gender?

going on the the spcnet point again, CURRENTLY there are more female spammers than male spammers here. so you're conclusion would be that females are more likely to spam than males?

LOL sigh simply put: I'm male.

But this will fall under a sample space being TOO small (3 people).

Yea if you find 20 spammers and find out their gender here on spcnet. And if you find more females than males. You can probably say females err spam more than males.

I don't think female readers will like the female ZWJ if the story follow similar route as HSDS.

First, she's being manipulated left right and center by Mongolian Prince and the wudang equivalent surnamed Zhou, not to mention another guy surnamed Chu that she met when she's 15.
Secondly, she can't make up her mind who she loves.

There are certainly more than 1 or 2 female posters in this wuxia forum.

i wouldn't mind if the storyline if u subtitute Prince for Princess and guy for girl.

why read about a bunch of guys when u can read about a bunch of beautiful girls?

never been a fan of male characters, either pushy or wimpy or just plain stupid.
