Fine, i haven't gone to school in asia before, I can't provide a different experience. I'll give you this one. But just to ask, what was the ratio you got? Are you counting readers or avid fans?

Thats not true. As I said, its not like its amazingly small like 3-5. Its 20+ which may not give the best picture but good enough for this discussion.

I think the question I asked was that "are you into wuxia?" etc. But I don't see the difference between readers/avid fans. If there are as many female readers, there should be as many female fans. Unless theres something stopping females from converting from readers to fans lol.

Lol where did you get that impression from? When I said "females like me", I meant female wuxia fans like me. The common point of being a wuxia fan, not being female.

Ah lets not get into actual statistics. But its just a general picture I want to express. There are more males than females on spcnet and since there are no specific forces that justifies the difference, spcnet is a representation of the wider community, not the best one though.

nah. If Wuji got switched genders, then Zhao Min would become a mongolian prince, ZZR becomes a wudang equivalent (not useless like Song Qingshu), Xiao Zhao a persian prince, and Zhu'er the male cousin.

But I think having a female protagonist and 4 hot males going after her will significantly reduce JY's readership. Maybe thats why it hasn't happened. It has always appealed to male readers.

Theres no need to count males. Just count the females. I can think of 1, maybe 2 posters on this wuxia forum. While I can think of SO many more male posters.
