Well we can all b*tch about how racist Hollywood is against Asians after we actually learn the plot of the movie and maybe actually see it, eh? Right now, it's premature.

If Chow Yun Fat is playing a Hui Mun Keung-like character, it probably won't be that bad.

Besides, it is the IF factor that is being emphasised, which is hardly conclusive.

We don't know that it's going to be that kind of movie.

This doesn't look like THE MUMMY 3 or PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3 or anything like that. It looks like a serious film.

And it's not as if our own Chinese filmmakers haven't depicted other ethnic groups stereotypically. I think Filipinos, among others, would have quite a bit to say about how Chinese filmmakers and TV writers have depicted them over the years.
