    Default Anime OSTs You like

Please list a clip of Anime OST/Songs you like.
For tonight, I'll just post one, but I'll continue to share more later.

A recent one that I like is from Natsume Yuujin Chou. It's sung by Kousuke Atari, he sings a traditional style of Japanese singing. More info about him and his style here.

The ED song has a very peaceful feel to it.
    「Natsu Yuuzora (Summer Evening Sky)」
    by Kousuke Atari
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5xDf0RmtHs (full version)

TV Version used in the anime:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_FF1n54iHg

    Lyrics:

The western sky becomes so colorful
as it is pierced by the ray of sunlight
The scent of summer is everywhere
    as the afternoon shower stopped

The light of the old memories flooded me
as I tried to picture them clearly in my mind
I could hear voices of my friends emerges slowly

The scent of that summer twilight came
vividly even after all this time
    Even now, my heart smiles
when I think back about that summer

    The lantern were so colorful
    in that summer festival
As I recalled the resounding bell
my heart started to tremble inside

    The cicadas are crying noisily
as I walk through the grove alone
I try to recall what those days were like

    Even now,
I can recall in my heart
    the quiet whispers of everything
    that were happening
    in those precious days

As a person, we must protect those things
As a person, we must learn from the things
that was created by the past generations
Keep those important lessons in our heart

The scent of that summer twilight came
vividly even after all this time
    Spread the warmth
    of those unchanging days

    Remember that summer

Oh gosh, I love Natsume Yuujinchou, the best I have watched in ages. The ending theme sums up each and every episode perfectly, leaving a tinge of sadness. I heard there's a second season coming up next year, can't wait!

There are alot of anime OP and ED that I like, I think the best are not those that are great songs/themes but also reflects the mood of the series very well, just like Natsume Yuujin Chou's ED. Basically songs that are written with the anime in mind. Some of my favourites -

    OP to 12 Kingdoms
    TV Opening

    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Cruel Angel Thesis
    TV Opening
    Full version

    Elfen Lied
    Lilium
    TV Opening
    Full Version

Nowadays, I mostly skip the op and ed and jump right into the story. However the only OST that I still remember is from one of the early anime that I watch, I think 8 years ago. The Love Hina OST. They are many, you can check it out at youtube.

Other than that, other OST that I like is the Mcdonald Sponsored anime: Kekkaishi.

I'd love to get my hands on the soundtrack for the classic SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO series, but I think they're long out of print.

I did a search in cdjapan and this list came up, maybe you can find the OSTs?

I do that too, just fastforward to the anime and skip the ED all together, but if the OP or ED is actually good enough, I will listen to it. Unfortunately there are not that many memorable OP and EDs for the newer animes.

The Death Note opening and ending themes, and Nana themes.
    Because I'm somewhere in between,
    My love and my agony.

I chanced upon this song...its so tender but the lyrics disturb me..

Shinigami no Ballad opening - No one - Koy

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjqYBziHYUA#

    Lyrics:

    How can I tell you...
    How can I tell you...

    I can not touch you
    But I can kill you

I'm so sad to say to you
But don't put your face close to me

Now I hear you say my name
    So I cross the light
    To be with you

What can you do for now...
What can you do for now...

    I know you can't
I know you can not do anything

I'm so sad to say to you
But don't put your face so close to me

Now I hear you say my name
    So I cross the fire
    To be with you

I'm so sad to say to you
But don't put your face so close to me

Now I hear you say my name
    So I cross the fire
    To be with you

The Nana themes were certianly very good...even though I never bothered to finish the series.

If anyone has watched Honey & Clover, I've always liked the songs in there, too.

    Yes, yes and yes

Nana's themes were good, though the anime doesn't have quite the same impact at the manga. I love Honey & Clover, the songs by Suga Shikao and Spitz were perfect inserts for the anime, of course the OP and ED rocks as well. Bleach had some pretty good OPs too, but I always felt the first few were the best.

I'd say the first few few songs for bleach were the best, too. though that would be biased, since i never got past the first 3 openings...

for nana, i tended to like the "reira" songs better than the "nana" ones.

I agree. I like the songs sung by "Reira" more.

I finished the anime and I want to find time to read the manga someday.

I like the Reira ones better, but in real life, I still prefer Anna Tsuchiya over Olivia Lufkin. The song Nana sang for the movie is absolutely amazing.

I also liked the Witch Hunter Robin themes.

Inoue Azumi is the best of all the anime theme singers. Her work for Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service is wonderful. In addition to Carrying You (Kimi wo nosete), A Lost Child from the Totoro image album is also great.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."
