Facing even middle-level fighters of the previous eras Miao would be dead meat. Personally, I think the best fighter in DOMD (the one-armed nun) is quite good, should be around the level of He Taichong, Duan Zhengchun, and Sun Bu'er. The best fighter in A Deadly Secret are probably around 50% of the one-armed nun, while the best fighter in Book & Sword are probably around 50% of ADS, and the best from Flying Fox are about 75% of B&S.

So the top fighter from DOMD is about 6 times better than Miao Renfeng. The Greats are probably about 10 times better than the one-armed nun, so they would be about 60 times better than Miao Renfeng.

Xiao Feng also thought that he could take out Duan Zhengchun in one stance (not in a straight up fight, but in a head-on palm clash).

Xiao Feng also praised Gongye Gan as having amazing palm power... and we know that Gongye Gan is just a fraction of Murong Fu's power.

In the novel, Duan Zhengchun was a rather weak practitioner of Yiyang Finger. Jin Yong didn't even praise him to the extent of ROCH Wu Santong's mastery in Yiyang Finger.

Always felt that the best fighter in the Qing Dynasty is either Ding Dian or Di Yun.

Being a later-written novel, Liancheng Jue does have a few outstanding feats. However, I don't feel the boys are quite up to par with the best of Crimson Sword. The one-armed nun in DOMD is said to be above everyone else except Yuan Chengzhi, which means she's probably even slightly better than INVINCIBLE FIST Gui Xinshu, who belonged to the best tier in Crimson.
