    Default Non perishable food items

What exactly constitute "non perishable food items?"

Would a package of prawn crackers be considered such?

I don't know, but I've heard an urban legend about a guy who, just a few years ago (i.e. within the past decade) who opened a package of Twinkies that came out of the bakery back in *1977*, and the Twinkies were still suitable for consumption.

    It's frightening if it's true.

The prawn crackers aren't considered non-perishable food because they require cooking. Non-perishable food should be ready to eat food, such as raisins, cereals, chips, candy/power bars, nuts, and so forth. In addition, the food should have a long life.
