As it is Halloween in parts of the world that celebrate the holiday, can we come up with a list of moments in wuxia in which characters got seriously spooked?

In TVB's LUK SIU FUNG III, Luk Siu Fung, Widow Fa, Hook, and Landlady spent a night at a haunted house on their way from the Haunted Villa to Mt. Mo Dong. Widow Fa, especially, was freaked out by all the body parts displays kept by Yip Ling Fung of his deceased wife.

I don't know if this was depicted in the novel, however. I never got that far in the LUK SIU FUNG novels.

I haven't read that novel but that kind of obsessive love certainly befits the atmosphere that a haunted villa should possess.

One scary moment that I remember is from The Sword and the Exquisiteness. I think Yu Peiyu found himself inside the mausoleum of a famous wulin family. It was a strange place where the corpses were well conserved and placed in sitting positions on chairs.

Someone tried to burn down the mausoleum from the outside, and suddenly one corpse started sweating as if it were alive. I think Yu or his companion might have started freaking out there, but it turns out that the sweating corpse was in fact a wax statue placed there by a man who faked his death.

Oh yes, the Murder Manor was an awesomely spooky place.
Though I guess the spookiest stuff in Sword and the Exquisiteness has to do with the doubles. The fake master Yu gives off such a sinister air...
