Help: need title to show

I was wondering, does anyone know the name of the pbs show (cartoon) that aired about 10 years ago. It features a buffalo who lived in a cave w/ another another of wild and the buffalo tells stories to two kids that teaches life lessons. One of the stories told was "Gift of the Magi" and "King Midas."

Wow I remember this cartoon. I totally forgot about it till I thought it over after reading this thread. It was also a lion, not a buffalo. The series was called "Between the Lions"
