Post How to cut out scenes from videos?

I was wondering how to cut scenes from videos... into programs like Moviemaker...
Is there a program I can download to cut out the scenes... My friends and I are working on this advertisement for Death Note, and want to have sections cut out for 'highlights'... not screen shots.

Any help appreciated... Please help ^_^

You can use the free program VirtualDub to cut scenes out of a video.

depends on what type of files, virtual dub will take AVI and MPG (if set correctly), but it sucks at handling MPG, other types of files require other programs.
