James Bond: Quantum of Solace

This movie was very meh. Nothing remarkable or memorable. Feels like a filler to set up the third movie.

I thought the girl in From Russia With Love fell in love with Bond way too easily. I cringed when she kept saying "oh please make love to me, James, I need you so much" in the tape. I find the early Bond movies (all of them up till Casino Royale) just lack characterization, that's what I meant by comic book-like.

I agree about the lack of characterization.

One thing I do like about the two latest films is the de-emphasis on high-tech gadgetry. Sure, Bond has a cell phone and used a tracking device in QoS, but he didn't have an explosive pen or a watch with a zip line or any of the more unlikely gadgets he's had in the past. As much as I like John Cleese, I really didn't want to see him again as the new Q. The segments with Q had become obligatory but pointless except as an opportunity for some lame one-liners. I prefer Bond more serious.
