Filming period

Scheduled to be 5 months from Oct 08 till March 09. Filming locations include Mt Wudang, Mt Wuyi, Peach Blossom Island and Long You Zhan, the latter two are located in Zhejiang province. ZJZ decided to film certain scenes in the province to pay homage to Jin Yong, who is a native of Zhejiang.

I think the fans have enough of HSDS as there are so many adaptions already. Why don't they adapt novels that have never been adapting into series? What a waste.....
I don't think this new adaption can compare to HSDS86 with Tony Leung as Cheung Mo Gei anyway.

DC interview where he talks about his role as ZWJ. I get a very positive vibe from DC- he seems to really get into his role as ZWJ and I'm hopeful that he can overcome the fact that he's more suited to modern dressing!

Basically the interviewer asks him how he feels about ZWJ not being the most popular of JY's heroes.

DC responded that he actually very much likes the character ZWJ- and its part of the magic of JY's penmenship that his heroes are not all the same, each with their own strengths and flaws. In fact when it comes down to it, heroes are also just ordinary people.

DC feels that ZWJ is a very innocent character, though many people criticize him for being weak, he thinks "indecisive" is the key to ZWJ's character. While people say this is his greatest weakness, DC actually thinks this is a 'strength' of ZWJ's, that this is part of ZWJ's wisdom and reflects his inner innocence. Because being overly impulsive/categorical (斩钉截铁) is a common flaw of men, what is most needed is exactly the sort of careful consideration, thought-before-action that is ZWJ's philosophy. Though this also separates ZWJ from the typical image of 'hero' that is in our hearts.

The interviewer then asks, if in DC's opinion that makes ZWJ closer to a real person in today's society.

DC agrees. However, he also adds that ZWJ grew up away from society, and yet at a young age is suddenly thrown back into it, and even watches his parents perish before his own eyes. This is a great shock to him and also determines that he will not tread the path of an ordinary person. DC is fascinated by this aspect of ZWJ's character and adds that in his reading of the character, there is something very 'spiritual' (禅) about ZWJ, and that he finds subtle and attactive.

Oh, those pix were from the link Sunny gave in Deng Chao's blog. I'd tried to save and upload those pix but failed . Luckily some people from wuxiasociety was able to upload it, so I copy the link from them. I noticed they usually get the news/updates later than us, it's usually our sunnysnow give update first, then few hours later, they'd post up the same updates

Ohh... very cool pics- thanks loads Tifftiff! And all of them I have managed to miss- I guess I haven't been as thorough looking over the pictures as I should have been!

Really think the pictures of DC and Ady in the dungeon are quite cute... though I can't figure out what part of their interactions involves ZWJ carrying a ZM with her arms outstretched? Ady laughing in the dungeon might actually be the ZWJ tickles ZM into releasing them from the dungeon bit!

I'm actually quite impressed they're having a kissing scene between ZWJ and ZZR too... bold for a Wuxia serial, but cool twist, since prior versions only seem to have ZM and Xiao Zhao getting to kiss ZWJ! Oddly, Liu Jing's blog (which I just went back to) implies that that's a scene in which ZZR realizes that ZWJ is in love with ZM.. so its a goodbye kiss? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding!

Actually DC and Ady look good together in peasant gear- it makes DC's outfit seem less dull that Ady is wearing down-to-earth cloths too... and DC has a cool "stop" hand gesture there! Perhaps they've already filmed the part where ZM and ZWJ travel to Shaolin in disguise?
