Cool Recommendations of dramas with Strong Heroines

I've been watching a lot of dramas about naive, girly girls lately.

I guess I want something a bit different.

Here are ones that fit the category that I've seen:

    Korea:

    Attic Cat
    Bad Family
    Coffee Prince
    Damo
    Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang
    Glass Slippers
    Gourmet
    My Bratty Princess
    My Love Patzzi
    Painter of the Wind
    Powerful Opponents
    Ruler of Your Own World
    Smile Again
    Sweet Buns
    Sweet Spy
    Who Are You?
    Witch Amusement

    Japan:

    Abarenbo Mama
    Alone in Love
    Anmitsu Hime
    Attention Please
    Atsu-Hime
    Flowers For My Life
    Hana Kimi
    Hana Yori Dango
    Last Friends
    Lunch Queen
    Love and Fight

    Taiwan:

    Bull Fighting
Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu (Hana Kimi)
    Love Contract
    Magical Love
    Magicians of Love
    Mean Girl Ah Chu
    Meteor Garden
    Mr. Fighting
    Prince Who Turns To Frog
    Reaching for the Stars
    Ying Ye 3 Jia 1

    China:

    Love at First Fight
    Return of the Condor Hero

    Singapore:

    Falling in Love

    Hong Kong:

    War of In-Laws II
    Eternal Happiness

Any suggestions you could give would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Well, here are my picks:

    Japanese:
    1) Koori no sekai (Ice World) - whodunnit, so main girl (Matsushima Nanako) is no wallflower, she's under investigation for killing her past three fiances.

    2) Hero - main girl (Matsu Takako) is someone with a sense of righteousness, which comes in handy as she follows her boss around investigating crimes.

    Korean:
    1) Rude Women - main girl (Yoo Ho Jung) is definitely no wimp, she's a kick-a$$ divorcee who's back to put the fear in her ex-husband, who left her 10 years ago for a richer, younger woman. Very funny drama.

    2) My Name is Kim Sam Soon - main girl (Kim Sun Ah) is a loud, un-ladylike (but not tomboy) pastry chef who hopes to get married by 30 and is dying to get rid of her unfashionable name.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I haven't seen those dramas yet. I will definitely look into them!

    Japanese:
    Galileo
    Mop Girl
    Teppan Shoujo Akane
    Puzzle 2008
    Nodame Cantabile
    Hotaru no Hikari
    Beauty or Beast/Bijo ka Yajuu
    Gokusen (1,2 & 3)

    Korean:
    Hotelier
Sweet 18 (the girl is spunky, not a tomboy or girly girly per se, though she is a bit naiive)
    Lovers in Paris

    Thanks, sunnydayz3!

Oh, I watched Ice World, Rude Women, Mop Girl, Hotaru No Hikari, and Beauty or Beast.

    I really like them.

    So, thanks a lot.

I watched three episodes of Lovers in Paris last night.

    It's really good. =)

I'd also recommend Love Marriage, a Korean series. The premise is hilarious.

I read the synopsis of it.

    Sounds interesting, thanks.

I also LOVED Hotelier and Lovers in Paris. Thanks a lot for the recommendation.

I probably would have overlooked them.

You're welcome! I enjoyed Hotelier more than Lovers in Paris.

If you haven't already, you could also try All About Eve (which is the older K-series that pioneered my love for Korean series).

Otherwise, I'd also recommend Which Star Are You From. The plot is a bit weak and illogical, but the acting is top-notch.

Haha, really? I liked Lovers in Paris a bit more.

Sometimes Hotelier's "hotel" talk was a little boring. Still good though. Only four episodes until I finish it.

Thanks I'll check those two out!

I've heard of Which Star Are You From. Never looked into it.

Sometimes older dramas can be better.

Oh, and I watched the first two episodes of Love Marriage. Not bad. I like the fact she's a match maker. Interesting job.

Chae Rim is hardly the "tough girl". The evil girl portrayed by Kim Seo Yeon is a bit more "tough" I suppose, but she acts "weak" and is very manipulative.

Chae Rim from All About Eve?

The girl's don't necessarily have to be tough.

    Just not very girly.

Girls that obsess over clothes, foolish things, and generally dress pretty girly are annoying me now.

I mean ones from like.. Goong, Princess Lulu, Romantic Princess, My Girl, Full House, Smiling Pasta, etc.

I need to watch All About Eve, but all the links are broken.

    Will probably watch on Aznv.tv

Haha, and I just noticed someone changed my topic.

It did say "Recommend me a drama with a girl whose a tomboy or not very girly."
