Default "In brightest day, in blackest night..." which wuxia heroes would merit a power ring?

In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power: GREEN LANTERN'S LIGHT!"

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://matty13.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/power_ring.jpg')

In DC Comics' GREEN LANTERN mythos, the Guardians of Oa grant a power ring and battery of power to individuals who are fearless, honest, and possessed great willpower. Over the years, the Guardians of Oa have chosen thousands of individuals across the universe for this great power and the responsibility that comes with it, including Earthmen Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner.

Among wuxia heroes, however, whom do you think the Guardians of Oa would select to wield a power ring?

I reckon most main characters fit. GJ and XF comes to mind as they put the wellbeing of society above all else.

Sounds just like Guo Jing and Xiao Feng.

Sounds like IMPARTIAL JUDGE Shan Zheng -- honest, respected, dignified, fearless & feared.

How much time do you spend thinking up these weird questions, Ken?

The original Green Lantern of Earth was Chinese. He used the power ring that eventually went to Alan Scott. But he turned evil.

The Green Lantern ring scales proportionately for how much willpower the user has.

So who has the most ridiculous willpower in the series?

Traditionally, it's been Hal Jordan. More than anyone else, he has been regarded as the greatest of the Green Lanterns.

Sniffie, nice one. I second that

Within my knowledge, XF, or whichever character who has the, yeah, ridiculous willpower (or stubborn?).

Actually, I'm more curious who would be that Joker in Wuxia world?

If you could somehow combine the humorousness and immaturity of Chow Bak Tung with the deviousness and cruelty of Sing Kwun, you'd pretty much have it.

I hate these topics. After I read them I always wind up on wikipedia for hours reading about superheroes and their powers =(

There needs to be a site where you can enter two characters' names and then click submit and it tells you who's more powerful. It's kind of hard to judge when they all have near infinite power. Silver Surfer vs Green Lantern? Beyonder vs Galactus? etc.

The closest one I can think of would be Dongfang Bubai: wicked, chilling, unpredictable and vicious.

I don't think Galactus is enough for even Beyonder's breakfast on a bad day.

I believe Beyonder was retconned into being really, really weak (by cosmic standards).

    That's no handbag.

It's a lantern, which the GLs actually call a "power battery."

Every twenty-four hours, those power rings have to be charged up at these batteries.

Kind of inconvenient, really. Over the years, Green Lanterns have often inconveniently run out of ring energy at the worst possible times.

It's a plot device to prevent them from becoming all-powerful. For the longest time, their rings were also ineffective against objects that were colored yellow.

Why can't they just wear the lantern round their neck for more power or something then?

    That's a damn good question.

Hal keeps his inside his locker at his workplace at an airfield in California (Hal is a test pilot for experimental aircraft).

Kyle keeps his in his apartment in New York, but not all of his adventures took place in New York. Sometimes, he was halfway across the galaxy or even in a parallel dimension. Oops.
