Kung Fu Action Theatre is on an audio drama release hiatus at the moment, but is far from inactive! I've asked a group of voice actors and producers to do readings from a public domain book called Warriors of Old Japan. It's a collection of samurai stories/legends and a few ghost stories which will be read from weekly over the next ten weeks.

The old WuXia podcasts are still in the podcast stream, so you can find them if you dig really hard on the podcast feed page. However because KFAT is generally focused now on producing original material and audio dramas(with the exception of this audiobook
) I don't include them on the group homepage.
Glad you're enjoying these readings- there will be 3 more chapters coming, plus the author's biography. (My god, that woman lived a historical J-Drama!
)

Wow, these stories are very well produced, with music befitting the mood. Plus I get to learn about the proper pronunciation of names. I enjoy reading stories set in ancient settings so this is certainly my cup of tea. Originally Posted by UltraRob

Thanks for the catch Wellesley! I'll look into that! In a way it's correct, though. Since the story of Benkei is actually the second half of the story of Yoshitune!
Glad you're enjoying them. I too have a strong fondness for historical Asian culture, and do these to help get a few more people familiar with some of the lesser-known legends of Japan.
One note though, my Actors are generally good with the Japanese names, but they're not Japanese speakers and do mispronounce them here and there. So don't take these as any kind of gospel when it comes to pronunciation.
Two more chapters to go, plus the author's Bio and this book will be done. But I encourage people to check out the author's other books as well!

As of April I return to doing original audio plays and my Sci-Fi adventure series Twin Stars continues into Book Two of it's run in May. Originally Posted by Han Solo

I adore JY and GL works, but there are 2 issues I have with doing them:
1) Copyright issues. (Warriors of Old Japan is Public Domain, which is partially why I chose it.)
2) Warriors was easy to put together because each chapter was a different story, so I could have each one done by a different reader. With a JY or GL book, it's one story so it would be hard to justify having a different reader to read each chapter. One reader is possible, but it's a hell of a lot of work for someone who isn't getting paid, so naturally finding a good reader willing to do it isn't easy. Heck, at 30 single-space pages a chapter, most JY works would be intimidating with even multiple readers. My other concern with multiple readers would be constantly shifting pronunciations of the names and different people using different voices for the characters. I worry it would really throw the reading off.
So, while I love the idea of promoting WuXia to a wider audience, I'm just not able or willing to put the time into it myself right now. (Now if Legend of the White Haired Maiden were finished, though...I might be willing to give it a try.)
