Default What is the most profound, advanced martial art in DGSD?

The question is not which martial art would be the one most likely to win in a fight, as that is largely dependent upon the fighter, but which is the most profound, sophisticated, and advanced martial art in DGSD...the Jin Yong story known to have some of the most incredible martial arts skills in the author's canon.

Other great martial arts skills such as the Mo Yung Family's skills and the Beggar's Union's Hong Lung 28 Palms are also great, but the above three arts are a cut above those.

Arguably none of the three above are really the most profound.

6MSJ is 6 different sword techniques plus modifying 1YZ chi into sword chi. But the sword movements aren't so wondrous that they could stand up on their own even though it's wielded with invisible sword chi.

BMSG has interesting philosophy but ultimately is fairly straightforward and doesn't really have any advanced or zen martial arts theories embedded in its application.

YJJ is now Yoga. And some dumb kid learned it accidentally by following the position of the pictures. I can't stand the portrayal of the skill formerly known as YJJ in DGSD.

6MSG is the most profound Invisible Sword Qi, can you really get better more "profound" than that?

    My favorite scene -

What's so profound about invisible sword chi? MRB had a similar finger technique and JMZ can do it with his palm technique.

Because it's profound! How can you not see this?

Prajna Palm probably. Since the narrator claimed that it knew no boundaries and had unlimited potential. I don't think JY used words like that to describe any other kung fu in his books.

Yes, and let's not forget the technique which Jiumozhi famously used to cut a palm-shaped slice out of a bronze cauldron from a distance IS none other than Prajna Palm.

The things done by the P-Palm are really, no indicator of its prowess. What we do know of it in actual fights, its just another advanced palm technique.

Those cannot possibly compared to the profoundness and power of 6MSJ. Would expect XF to brush those away with XL18Z.

I'd have to say Yijinjing since you are transforming the body itself. The others are "just" ingenious/advanced techniques.

It was too profound for its practitioners (except possibly Sweeper Monk).

I don't think 6MSJ is capable of pulling a weapon out of a body from 80 feet away while simultaneously bowling 2 experts over.

I see. SMonk probably used P-Palm to defeat MRB's perfect defensive stance.

BMSG is clearly the supreme here.

As in HSDS (and in contrast to XAJH), internal energy is king in DGSD. That means the best internal energy art (especially a leecher method, the most imba ridiculous etc.) is clearly the best.

For instance, what if DY had been evil, and just gone suck-crazy on the Dragon monks? Then JMZ shows up, he sucks him too. Now he's like 5X XF in power. He can learn any martial arts (as XZ so eloquently showed) and beat up everyone.

    Yes!

What? The Blazing Flame Saber that allowed JMZ to fight with DY's 6MSG "machine gun" (from all 10 fingers!) for a while?

Hey you said it, its Duan Yu, and the inexperienced Duan Yu who didn't get to his peak in DGSD yet. Xiao Feng's XL18Z would pwn JMZ.

Aiyah, Jin Yong intended 6MSG to be the ultimate qi art! It's practically the sole fictional representative of Qigong (unlike the hard external techniques mixed with Qi like HL18P).

Anyone for Everywhere I Reign Supremely?
    Reverend Rongku prepared himself.

Suddenly, he toss his hands and screamed: "I am not human! I am an animal!"

The crowd startled at such a bizarre beginning to the story.
