Default Let's take a moment to grieve for the legendary Liang Yusheng.

I just read on the news that author Liang Yusheng had just died in Australia today.

I know most of here arn't too familiar with most of his works aside from the famous ones such as "White Haired Maiden" and "Seven Swords".

In any case, he is still considered the Father of Modern Wuxia.

Let's take a moment to share thoughts about him and his works.

    -a moment of silence-

I've always enjoyed his works. Liang Yu Sheng is undoubtedly one of the greatest wuxia writers of his time, and I believe that his novels deserve the same, if not more, fame than the works of Jin Yong and Gu Long.

I was first introduced to Liang Yu Sheng through the TV series, "Lofty Waters Verdant Bow". It is one of the better wuxia dramas out there, I must admit. Slowly, as I began to explore the world of wuxia, I realised Liang Yu Sheng was the original author for that show. Hence, I decided to check out his other publications as well, after which I found myself deeply entranced by his words. His plots were also greatly mystifying, and he was able to paint vivid battle scenes.

I really adore his works. His endearing demise constitutes a great loss to the world of wuxia. I am sure that he will someday become shining inspiration for future wuxia authors.

Although I'm personally not familiar with his works, I know he has made a great contribution to the wuxia genre in general (literature, movies and TV adaptations).

Great respects to a legendary wuxia author.

"White Haired Maiden" inspired one of the best wuxia films I've ever seen. Can't say I liked "Seven Swords" as much but the ingenuity with how the seven swords worked is also praiseworthy.

I hope that one day his works would be translated and therefore be better known among the english-speaking wuxia communities.

For me, he has always had been one of the Big 3 together with JY and GL.

The old guy, the respected author, did great works of Wuxia.
His soulful works will spread beyond than a memory of him.
His big name will spread more than an author in Wuxia.
Wuxia characters brought to live with his blood in ink will be remembered longer than time.

    RIP

The Bride with White Hair movies were quite good. I never seen the Evil Sect ("mau gow") portrayed so creepy.
